Set off for an early run this morning- tooth extraction this morning so started before 7am (unusual for me)... started running fine but by 2km my ankles hurt- I had to walk... it did ease and then my feet felt sort of tingly... any advice because not experienced this before... definitely not shin splints as had those before and this pain was lower x

I have absolutely no clue whatsoever, but just wanted to say I am sorry you have to go through sore ankles straight before a tooth extraction - what a day! Hope your experience at the dentist was not too unpleasant and that your ankles and gum all heal quickly and well. xx
Are you maybe pushing yourself a bit hard? You are obviously really keen and running lots, but perhaps your body is telling you that it needs a bit more rest....?
Hope the dentist is ok.

I have a rest day between runs which I have always done x
Yes appreciate that, but I think you are running further (with your recent 8K) and maybe your ankles haven't quite caught up with you

That might be true actually x

I'd agree that, maybe, you should rest your ankle then consider consolidating the 30 minutes runs for a while to let your body adjust to the regular running. Once your ligaments etc are used to the running to then, gradually, extend the running. Quality not quantity.

Definitely rest up. I ended up under the osteopath with a strict no running order due to running through a sore ankle. Take it easy and if it persists get it checked out.

Yes, to what Helen says, more rest.. 😊
Definitely agree with all the above. Rest is so necessary especially when you are increasing your distance. I had a horrid Achilles when I was working towards 10k and had a couple of weeks off, but carried on with core work in the gym and swimming to keep my fitness up. It paid off. Good luck.
