It's beginning to look a lot like....the last week of the Quest!
Busy times, seasonal sniffles and weird weather has made this a very challenging month for many of us. Getting our runs in and meeting our targets... but, as long as we are running and enjoying it, that must be good Keep at it for this last week
What the Quest is;
The Quest takes one month . You can join any time, within those weeks.
The main aim of the Quest is to help you find a focus or goal that you would like to achieve by the end of the Quest period.
I ask that you will be a Graduate to join the Quest. The main reason I ask this is that while you are doing the programme, your plan is very structured so I wouldn't want the Quest to interfere with that.
Most popular goals are:-
To run three times a week
To slowly increase distance
To train for a specific race
To add In Stretch and Strength exercises
As you can see they are personal to yourself and it's totally your own choice.
Each week, I will pin a new post where all the members of the quest can talk about how things are going.
So if you want to join, all you have to do is put;
I would like to join the Quest, or, count me in and then, I would like to. ..............
Your name will then be added to the top post and every week your name will be in the quest until the end.
At the end of the Quest, there will be a certificate that you can download to keep.
Wishing you a happy healthy week

Morning floss! Just about to get up and attack the day, have a big to do list starting with beach walkies for George!
My 100miles in Dec challenge is still very challenging! 😕had Sun and Mon off but did Tuesday Xmas club run in fancy dress tues night and last night Paul dragged me out for a 5 miler! Not too far behind have hit 61.5miles now with a 10mile race on the 30th so hopefully will hit my target! But remind me not to pick Dec next year for it no matter how pretty the medal!!! 😆😣😕😊
Go you...bet your list is longer than mine.. I have lots to do... but, just heading out for a run now.. still dark and I had a bit of a lie in :)You have done amazingly, especially in this very busy month..enjoy your walk
Still on target for my goals in 2017. Only 12k to go to reach 1200 for the year (and 31k to reach my December targets). Had a good 5k run yesterday evening, one of my fastest in a long time. It reminded me that my fastest runs are normally during the day and not first thing in the morning, where I tend to be sluggish. Since I only really run in the morning this is a “problem” and will need some pondering over the Christmas period!
Morning all 🙂. Soon comes round again doesn’t it. Here we are again ready for another quest. Good luck peeps!
I am plugging away with half marathon training. Running 12k later which is a bit of a bind, but if it’s on the plan it’s getting done. Got my postponed 10k race on 14 January, so plenty to be getting on with
So I actually managed for the first time this month to get my 3 runs in last week. My Sunday run was only a 3k on the treadmill but it was a run. I should be able to reach my goal this week since today is my last day of work for a week 🤗. I ran a comfortable 5k yesterday, am planning on another one tomorrow and a 13k run Christmas Eve. We're travelling Christmas Day so are opening presents On Saturday (haven't told the kiddo yet, am going to surprise him) so that day will be a PJ day filled with LOTS of coffee and Baileys 😋☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️😍 watching all the movies that were in the stockings. A nice relaxing day.........
Plodding on through the month with some decent runs thus far. Next week will be a scheduled recovery week with three shorter runs planned in between eating my annual supply of turkey. Hope everyone has a great finish to the month
A disagreeable week but nothing like a bit of hassle to remind you to do the yoga (just an independent practice, not a class, need to do one of those before the end of the month to achieve my yoga 'goal') and I was so fed up of other stuff derailing plans that I bloody-mindedly shoehorned in a swim this morning so I am now up to 4.2km in the month and sooooo close to achieving the goal for the year that I thought was going to elude me
No run in a new place yet (or indeed run at all this week, hmph)... need to get my thinking cap on.
It's been a bad week. My cat died following a seizure, but I got two runs in this week. I haven't been doing too well, but I plan to get another run in early tomorrow.
I'm so sorry to hear about your cat LiisaM . It's always hard to lose a pet but that's not one of the 'better' ways. I hope the running helps a bit to live with the unavoidable grief process.
Well... I have stopped. The pressure was getting to me so I have decided to back off for a little while. I have a run planned with a friend on 28th Dec and for the first time since I started, I do not plan to run on Christmas Day. And this is okay. As I have said to many people, the roads will still be out there.
Happy running to all those who can, and to those who are struggling in any way, a swift recovery.
May we all have a happy, healthy and peaceful Christmas and New Year x
BooHoo not managed it, my cough and now head cold has come back worse. Really knocked me out. Thought i'd stop running to see if that helped, doesn't seem to. Got to get it out of my system somehow...
I was temporarily scuppered by the ice and snow for over a week. The club didn't run so that went out of the window. The second lot of snow a few days ago only delayed me by a day and having driven round to check the route, I'll give the ascent to Clent another go tomorrow...hopefully. I've kept up exercising, of some sort, 3 times a week, using the treadmill when necessary, so I feel I've done the best I can under the circumstances. Not a disastrous December but...could do better. We'll see what January brings.
