Hi everyone. Long time no see (or rather messaging) For the past 2 months or so I've been slowly increasing my runs from 5k to 10k. I finally hit 10k two weeks ago and today I ran my first 10k race.
It was the santa run held in Victoria Park in London. I chose this race because it looked like good fun plus you got a medal.
When I turned up I started to second guess myself and worry that if I did the 10k I'd be the slowest, which I would find very embarrassing. I almost talked myself out of it ad told myself I could just do 5k instead. But by the time the race was I it's way and I was 3k in I knew I'd be running the full 10k. And I did it! It wasn't a timed race but according to mapmyrun it took me 1h 19mis. Wahoo.
Now I'm not sure what to do next. I want to do a half marathon around my birthday which is in September but I don't know what to do leading up to that. I might want to do another race in between or I might want to order work on speed.
What did everyone else do after reaching 10k?
