A December challenge for all the forums, whatever stage you are at.
Have you got a plan to keep your fitness levels up over December this year. For some it is the cold, dark and rain that keeps us in doors, for some it is too many late nights and feeling shattered the next day. Or Is it the chance to have some little treats and not worry too much about the Waistline that gets you out the door, or do you need a little Me time when the house is full. This is time of year there are so many reason to stay in and still so many reasons to go out.
So the challenge is set your self a plan that works for and try to stick to it.
Today write you plan down and post it in here. You know once it is in writing it matters π
( make the plan achievable for you, donβt stretch your self too much and take into consideration everything that is going on)
It could be run 2-3 times a week, make sure I go out at least once a week, run for 5-6km, that sort of thing.
Then post how you did. I will put a new post up for the weeks.
4th to the 10th December
11th to the 17th December
18th to the 24th December
25th to 31st December.
Letβs all keep our fitness levels up through December and go into the New Year knowing we are all still motivated
If your injured or ill take care of yourself and only do what you can, just being mindful of what your body needs is a great thing for your general well being and obviously you can join this challenge any time so even if you come to the site the last week of December you are still welcome.

My plan is to keep to routine as much as possible.
I do boxercise and Pilates once a week, gym twice a week (one of which is a treadmill run) and two outdoor runs... the gym I go to has crΓ¨che which is my saviour, but it will be closed between Christmas Day and New Year's Day so the plan is to run Christmas Eve, Boxing Day, either the Thursday or Friday and then New Year's Eve... then pick the routine back up on the 2nd Jan when all is normal... ππ
I take each week as it comes and adapt my routine round the parties/concerts/visits etc as best I can. I got quite good at running on holiday, which means that most of my friends know I run (makes things easier!). And I know I can do daft things like get up at 5:30 am for a run - if I really want to. I'm in England over Christmas, but I know how to get to a great running area from where I'm staying without having to rely on anyone else. So I have the option of sneaking out really early or disappearing for an hour. And I will!
So the aim is to continue running 4x a week (absolute minimum 3x) and maintain a minimum of 20k a week. If I do that I shouldn't put on too much weight. That's the theory anyway!
I'm carrying on my runstreak... not long till a year for me!! And also starting to learn kettle bell moves and upping weights at bodypump... loving it π
So far I've managed here and away from home, here and abroad. Mon-Thur- Sat every week, regardless. If times are tight, l do it pre-dawn. And FYI, Dulwich Park opens right at the crack of dawn, l park the car by the gallery on the side and run right in. Priceless as well as beautiful. (ok, ok, and very cold as well).
Well I vow to run tomorrow Rfc, that's a definate! Last week was a non starter as far as my running was concerned. The combination of leaving work late and getting home to a house mid extension and associated dust, dirt and general disorganisation meant I didn't run. Out all day today so no Sunday runπ - I have got to get a plan together for the next few weeks because running is my sanity! A realistic goal is to run 2-3 times a week (shorter weekday runs(at least 1?) and a longer trail run at the weekend. Last run it was freezing out but I do love running in the winter so no weather excuses here. Good luck with your plan!x
I love the picture - very clever (how did you do that?!)
So much happening over the next four weeks that I am going to plan one week at a time!!
Week 1 (4-10th): Working this week and guests at the weekend but going to try for 3 runs. Tuesday - morning longer run, Friday - afternoon 5k, Sunday - short interval run
ALSO - continue Core work (just MUST keep that going - no excuses!)
Thank you. I did the main picture for all the forums then used an app called PhotoFunia to put them into newspapers and a book Itβs a great app for things like that.
