.....my new shoes that is!

On Thursday I decided that I would 'overlap' my old and new shoes so went out in my old Brooks. Well, that turned out to be their last run! I did 5k but got horrible pain in my blister area (which had healed in the interim). Grrrr ๐Ÿ˜ฅ

Yesterday I did a similar 5k in my new Nikes. I'm still finding them a bit strange but that feeling improved as I went, and the blister area didn't hurt at all! So they are my future for now at least. The Brooks will be fine for walking and use in the gym as they only hurt on running.

Now to try to build back up to 10k! I think I might need to find another event to motivate me......

Oh dear, blisters - painful! Good idea to stick to the new shoes. Yes, events& races are good for motivation. Any thoughts about when and what? I remembered today that I was going to sign up for a virtual race (Dog Jog!) must get on and do that. ๐Ÿ•๐Ÿพ!

I think you will be asked to post a pic of the new shoes Joy :) it did sound like the old Brooks were done for. My old New Balance shoes are my walkers now too. Happy running in the new kicks!

I got them 2 weeks ago & posted a picture at the time. Grey, not too exciting to look at - though they have pink heels :)

Ouch and hooray! new shoes... wonderful! Pikkies please?

Maybe try the 10K programme ju-ju- put together? A few of us doing it currently... some to get back to 10K..after injury or similar.. and a few doing it for the first time...It is a brilliant programme and I am finding it really helpful and enjoyable :)

Add a virtual 10K run to that... something to aim for? :)

The picture went up 2 weeks ago - they're not that new!

The 10k programme sounds interesting - where do I find it? Is it a pinned post somewhere Floss?

Stick to the Nikes! And pick a race with the best bling ๐ŸŽ–๐ŸŽ–๐ŸŽ–

Old shoes, new shoes, such a drama isn't it! Stick with what works that's my recommendation! In the meantime you will get back to 10k so book an event or virtual run for motivation. You can do it!
