.... is where I will be going on Saturday 11th November! I was thinking I'd do the last ever Shakespeare 10K, but was somewhat put off when I realised it was going to take over 2 hours to drive there - and you have to be there before 9:30 to register... so a quick google about revealed that there's one at Tatton Park, an hour away, the same day. So glad I checked before I paid, while the course might be a little tougher than an old airfield it's also going to be a lot more interesting....
Been out a couple of times, including the Ellesmere Port parkrun on Saturday - it's a fairly small one, first time I've done it and there's usually less than a hundred runners, mostly over grass round Whitby Park and flat as the proverbial pancake! I completed it in 33:55, although sadly they've not got the results up as the scanner has developed a fault... hurrah for Endomondo..... then this morning was a "sprints" session - warm up, then two cycles of 5 minutes fast, three recover, 3 minutes fast, 3 mins recover. It felt a bit hard work at points - the recovery usually ended up including at least 30 seconds of walking - but anyone seeing me in the last few minutes of warming down would have thought I was mad, as just as I was plodding towards home on came one of the ultimate feelgood songs, "Brimful of Asha" by Cornershop, it was all I could do to not sing along.... at the end of a 45 minute run, it was just what I needed!
