Wow look at me. Joined a running club last week and signed up for my 3rd 10k of the year.
Doing Tatton in March, Manchester i May and Bangor in October......Bring it on.
How's everyone getting on this year?
I'm still super slow, I run 3x5k a week at the moment and my times range from 30-47 mins at the moment but I'm at the point in life where time is not what matters any more. The fact that I have my health and able to run is good enough for me.
I find road running easier than the treadmill, is this the norm for most runners?
Stay healthy folks and keep on running.

From another Al, good luck for your 3/10Ks this year, you say that you have not been on the forum for over a year, in that case you may notice a few new names.
Talking about 10K's, I am now a Graduate10 as I have now ran 4, also, I have ran 14 Parkruns and now have a parkrun T shirt.
That 30.47, at first I thought that was your fastest 5K, but noticed it was the time range for them, no hurry, once again, good luck for those 10K 's later in the year, 😊👍🏃🏾
I just gradually, 1K increase week by week got to 10K, I have not run a 10K since November 2019, so what I am going to do, like quite a few other graduation10 runners is start the Juju Magic10 coming course beginning on the 31st January.
Tatton is great and those guys really know how to organise an event. I did the HM in November and everything from start to finish was perfect. I’m thinking of getting the season ticket for the 10k runs next year... think it’s 10 events for £95.
You hit the nail on the head there for me... it’s all about being healthy and able to do those runs... that’s why we started this and no number on a clock will ever beat that.
I’m not a fan of the treadmill, but I did manage to take my endurance record on a treadmill up from 5 minutes to 2 hours last year! I find it easier to be outside, which I know is due to the scenery.
Enjoy the events... and even more so the training for them. Happy running
