I have been a little out of sorts over the last couple of months. Since mid August I have not been able to concentrate on distance as planned. I was having some issues and was nervous running too far from home. Running brought on bowel movement and with very little warning. I also got very worried when blood was appearing with a bowel movement. Anyway I seeked medical advice, had blood tests and on Thursday I had a colonoscopy. Of course my symptoms cleared up 2 weeks before the colonoscopy. All is well thank goodness. And I am now back to normal.
So to celebrate I did a Parkrun yesterday and this morning I took part in a beautiful 5K trail run around the grounds of Slane Castle in Co. Meath with my 8 year old boy called Oisin. There were very steep hills, and uneven trails, but we got through it and loved it. Oisin did his very first 5K in difficult terrain but beautiful scenery in 38:28. It was cool running with him and getting him away from YouTube for a few hours.π
Back to training now for 10k. I'll start increasing my distance on Tuesday. So relieved everything is ok and look forward to building back up my fitness and the miles.
