Did it!

Tonight I finally ran ten k! Absolutely chuffed with myself ! Took an hour 17 mins but hey ho I did it. Never ever thought when I started C25k in March last year that I would ever run so far or for so long!

Thanks ! I just persevered with running whenever injury let me! Had ten weeks off with badly sprained ankle at the start of the year and started again with running and walking and building up till I could run 5k again. Try to run three times a week. Consolidated that then gradually added to runs (not every time) e.g. 6 k one weekend, then 6.5 k next weekend. Did nine k at the start of July and meant to consolidate that but somehow kept going till ten. I run slowly, and slow down if I get tired but no stopping. I choose flat routes for long runs and always take water with me. Good luck , honestly if I can do this you can!!!

Many thanks Hilary! Yes that's what I had in mind after I posted you. Anyway ran 6k yesterday incorporating some hills/ inclines. So Tuesday I'm going to the Forest of Dean where it is a bit flatter and hope to achieve 6.5 or even 6.3kms.

I shall take it steady though. My time yesterday was 50 minutes pace of 9.3 could have done better, the hills got in the way !🙂

However they are getting manageable so that's good. 😀😀

Many thanks again and

Happy running😄😄

Hills are hard!! There's a lot round here so I need to master them but they slow me down and wear me out. I hate running down steep hills too as worried my knees give out!!! I am trying to build up though. Well done on six k though. You are doing fab!

in reply to

Many thanks Hilary! Yes they are hard ! My mantra is "Hills are good for meeeee"! ha! 😄😄

in reply to

Yes mine is hills are character forming!!

in reply to

Ha!ha! that's a great one and they are indeed character forming!😬😡
