It may be you are starting too fast and so not able to continue running, so SLOW down.

I think you have very recently completed C25k, so I would say you perhaps should concentrate on running three times a week. This will help build your running legs. Make one a slow 30 minute run with a few inclines included, one an interval run, maybe use week 1 or week 2 but try to run a little faster and jog the walk parts, and your 3rd run add on no more than 10% in distance every couple of weeks. These longer runs will mean you will then begin to cope better with the 5k distance.

Then there are the 5k + podcasts....Stepping Stones, why not have a look at them?

Slow and steady continues to be the theme, all runners need to build and often go back and begin building again depending on what they are training for.

When I graduated in March 2016 I was in a similar situation. I was happier running 4K and many times I found myself walking at 3k. I could still do 5k if I put my mind to it, but it was the exception. Roll forward to now and 5k is the standard. I don't have to think or worry about it, I don't get the urge to stop and walk, I can do it. And I can do 6k or 7k on the same basis. Pretty much any time I want to.

How did I do it? Just keep chipping away at it. Run 3x a week, varying your runs. One 5k, one speedy interval run (can be anything from 2 - 3.5 k) and one longer, slow run. You will slowly get better, 5k will become less of a struggle.

But most of all - enjoy yourself!

Very inspiring. Gives me hope!

I'm doing a mixture of some 5k (at an extremely slow pace) and some stepping stones. It's nice to see Laura again and she helps with posture and technique
