Yeah, description in one word: βalmostβ. But getting there, and yes, there are moments when everything clicks into place. For a bit...
I also bumped into 2 dogs π π, or rather they bumped into me. And in the last 10 seconds of the 165BPM running part! I just about didnβt fall over, but my calf muscles must have tightened so much that it suddenly hurt to run, so had to walk last seconds.π
Imagery for my mind to make it βclickβ in place: On the one hand there was that light footed fairy π§ββοΈ pulling, on the other Mr Locomotive π pushing.
The former is the path to 165 bpm enlightenment. Iβm sure.
And Iβm almost there.
Almost.
Happy running everyone.

Amazing you managed that, I think Iβll give that one a miss for the time beingπ±. Tried the stepping stone and the speed and they were hard enough for me. It sound like a really hard one to complete. Well done for finishing in one piece.ππ
Yes, I know that Maddee_6333 had to spend quite some time on the injury couch because of what I assume was a similar incident. (How is your recuperation going, maddee?) Two dogs playingly crashing into her. As I donβt run with dogs or have a dog, I thought I was save from that but there you go. And I was lucky. Tonight foam rolling, tomorrow is workout day and then I will see on the next run if my calf muscles did take a hit. But so far all is ok, just a little too tight everything.
Thank you! Yes itβs brilliant exploring the physical aspects of running. I am feeling muscles now that I didnβt know existed!
And that mind trick of switching from thinking strain-like-a-train to lightly-like-a-fairy, was a revelation to me, e.g. that mental concepts have the power to direct the complexity of movements of muscles, joints and ligaments. So, at my older age I am still exploring the essence of our being! πππ¦΅ππΌπͺ
Intriguing, I think I might just have to have a look at these podcasts, but I am a convert to slow running so not sure how that fits in with HR at 165bpm π π
Fast legs, slow pace. Thatβs how I managed to hit the 165BPM. So smaller steps.
I assume what it does is to get one used to moving your legs faster, as you get used to a certain pace. So I will know once I finish all these podcasts (after the next 3 speed podcast runs) and run my regular route. I should then see if it made me faster!
Strangely enough, why it almost works for me is that I think it actually needs that attitude of βdonβt worry about speedβ. The only way I can make this work is to take even more smaller steps, so Japanese Slow Jogging cubed! π and I love Japanese Slow Jogging!
