At last! A none stop 10k

I love running! I hate having to miss a run! But there are days when my mind is saying no, and my inner teen seems to drag me out before I know it - and for once my inner teen is wiser than my old body 😏

I have had a long period of stopping to walk during runs for no apparent reason at all (I know it happens but this has been very protracted). But today I did 10k with no thought of stopping. It wasn't particularly pretty but it happened. I even had that thing where chunks of the run went by without me registering them and finding myself a lot further along the track than expected! Good job I had my garmin on to prove no shortcutsπŸ˜€.

Plan is now to do some long slow runs for a few weeks as will be on holiday in and then start the build up to my HM at the end of October when I want to improve my time on last year -shouldn't be too difficult!πŸ˜‚

It was a good feeling Poppy. Was beginning to think it wasn't ever going to happen any more. It was early morning, very cold which helped and for some reason it didn't matter if I was going up the hills or down them.

Thanks Sandra - had to happen sooner or later, at least that was my thinking!

Excellent work, and now you have done it, it will be easier to dismiss the gremlins next time as it will be very much the case of, well I have done it once I can do it again and again and again. Keep up the excellent work.

Thanks Mat. Don't know what was holding me back, I just kept stopping with no reasoning about how my breathing, legs, what my body was saying or doing - most odd - just found myself walking. Need to be more attentive in future!

Well done , great effort 😊

Thanks Rob, Like we always say, that good run is just around the corner. Trouble was this corner has been a blummin' long one.

So true AnnieW55 the longer the journey the greater the reward at the destination 😊
