I did it last year and am tempted to sign up again. I fundraised in memory of my mum and got to 500km and £600 by the end of October,it's just coming up to the anniversary of her passing last year..... it's a great cause and it's a good motivation to get running .....
Well done that's amazing. Yes it's just coming up to one year since I lost my Dad after a dreadful couple of years with dementia. I took up running with the C25k podcasts just after he died - needed the distraction and found being out alone with my memories very therapeutic. Still think about him a lot when I am out on my runs and am so glad I took up running. Horrible disease and really hope the research finds some help soon.
So sorry for your loss,it must have been around the same time, mum was 29th May😕 its hard not having them around still. she had dementia for around 4 years but luckily she still recognised us but it was hard to see her declining. It's so common now pretty much everone knows someone affected. I was already a runner but the challenge was really good to keep me focused and I'm sure she was with me and is still... good luck with your challenge...
Yes, I've signed up and have a couple of runs under my belt and a couple of donations.
I lost my father to dementia last August.
Well done - and sorry to hear about your Dad. There's no one that replaces a Dad is there? xx
