I am back on track. W2 d1 of B210k today and it went ok. BUT..... the music is driving me crazy!! I actually hate it! So, does anyone know of another app that I can use which allows me to listen to my own music? Many thanks 🙂

Have you tried Sami Murphy Bridge to 10K, as have many of us on here ? It is really good :)

You could just set up a timer on something like Endomondo saying what intervals you want to do. Then you can listen to what you want. You can tell Endomondo whether you want the music/podcast paused or just have the volume turned down when the prompt comes on.

Other apps probably do the same, but Endomondo is what I've always used to track my runs and it works fine so I've stuck with it.

Thanks. That sounds like worth a try.

I'd be interested in what's out there as well, I'm just about to start my own Bridge to 10K.... having splashed out on Endomondo Premium it has an option to give you a customised training programme so I'm going to see what that does for a bit - if anyone's any experience with it I'd be interested.... In theory I can get it to play my own music, in practice maybe because my phone's a little bit older it's not doing it reliably so I currently run with Ipod in one ear for music/podcast, and the phone in the other!

Of course there is the Bluefin B210K podcasts in iTunes. But again, it's relentless 'running music' with 'run' / 'walk' commands at the right time.

I am trying the Bluefin Ease into 10K app and that lets you play your own music - you just have to listen for the run/walk commands.

Thanks for that.

I have a little Sony voice Recorder that I can record BBC dramas and Documentaries directly off the internet, and songs from Youtube etc. That way I have my own preference in what I hear when running :) Ithere was not music or anything on the US version of C25K so I just ran that in silence but since graduatiing I've used my Sony to pass the time and used a small Kitchen Timer for the longest time to keep track of intervals and stages etc.

Now I just go out and run whatever distance i figure I 'need' to so that I don't fall behind and for new distances I keep an eye on my watch so I don't Overrun in any particular enthusiastic morning :)

This is very similar to the one I use :) bestbuy.com/site/sony-digit...

Thanks John. Think I'm going to give the endomondo app a go. There's a free trial for my phone so we'll see how that goes😊

I'm a couple of weeks into the active 5-10K app and it seems to do the job. You just play your own music and when there are any instructions it lowers the volume so you can hear them.

Thanks. Have a free trial now for the endomondo app but when that's finished I might try the active one ☺

You can also programme intervals into RUNKEEPER and I think that there is a setting to lower the volume of music when the intervals are announced.

Runkeeper lets you listen to your own music and cuts in with the intervals. There's also a Zenlabs b210k out there somewhere where there's no music.

I don't like the ones I've heard so far! Obviously I've only heard the ones on wk 1 and 2 of B210k. Is there a way of getting other podcasts with different tracks?

I don't know of any free ones here. I think it's I'll have been discussed so,you could trawl through some posts. Heard mention of bluefin, and maybe audiofuel has something

I can only comment on Sami cos that's the only one I've done 🙂

The Zenlabs C10K free app allows you to play your own music. 5k is completed at week 8 so the 'bridge' starts at week 9. 10K is at week 14. (In case anyone else has a similar query and hasn't resolved it with Endomondo.)

Podcasts with music

Freeway to 10k,

bluefin,

Suz's 'From 5k to 10k',

There's an old - gateway to 8k

You can of course get the text of b210k_plan, Active's 5k to 10k program or freeway210k and as others have said use runnkeeper/endomondo to do the timings.
