If I was a) running and fit enough and b) had done some trail running. I would love to have a go at this. I used to live in Grosmont and my grandmother (Nanny) lived in Goathland, so many happy times playing in the ferns on the moors and the heather, just have to watch out for the adders though. π.
Would love to do this. : If I was a) running... - Bridge to 10K
Would love to do this.
I guess you could always jump on the train if you felt knackered π
Oh wow, that looks great, would love to do that too! Really tempted.....especially as it's the first one........unfortunately.....(or fortunately....depending how you look at it) we're in east Anglia, so would mean a long drive and overnight stay (not that it would bother us) however, we already have a trail 10k 'race' booked for the 18th.... so a bit much, and I know when that lot up there say 'hills' to us that means 'mountains' π........if it was proper flat we'd be really, really tempted......my calves are already crying at the thought of back to back trail races! π¬ ......Although my head is saying something different......ππ........corrr! Look at that, loads of fun!.......

Madge50 , so many excuses!!
You wouldn't believe the heart vs brain tussle we're having right now π , or maybe you would π, but I think the logistics are just a bit too much........if it was a bit closer to us we'd be in! π

Madge50 I aspire to running 10k two days in a row! I'm very impressed by the fact that you're even thinking about it. The thought of racing a steam train is rather lovely, tho (The Railway Children, anyone?).
That would be fun. Right up until the train left me in the dust! Spectacular scenery tho.
An interesting challenge and one for the family to enjoy on the train and see you suffer ;). I might be tempted to do that next year as I've a 10k the week after this year and I've yet to run a 1/3 of a Marathon distance
I have the opportunity to 'race the steam train' regularly close to home (I can see the smoke when it is in the station sitting in bed). Needless to say, I lose every time!
This looked seriously tempting right up to the point where I read the word 'hilly'. Think I'll leave it to misswobble and JJ
Trail running is the best! Bar none π
Good! It helps if you have scenery. Takes your mind off the actual running Trails running seems to chew up distances far quicker
This looks brilliant and hubby loves steam trains so it would be a wonderful day out. Bit far away though and busy with B&B......also not used to trail running but maybe next year!
what a great heads up! Thankyou! I have entered and booked my family a nice train ride. I am based in Bedfordshire (the home of hill running......not!) so we will be making a weekend of it. 10k the following week at Silsoe but nothing ventured, nothing gained.
