Not the week I had planned last week started of ok then got a sore throat and had to take it easier for the rest of the week. But hoping this week will be better. Happy running you all.
I have had a "disjointed" few weeks of running lately. This past week I have had to wear a blood pressure monitor and an ECG halter for 24 hours each - but I have done a couple of 1 hour plus run/walks and did a reasonably quick parkrun last Saturday - will do a couple of temp paced sessions this week - probably half Klm repeats and then we are off to Norfolk Island for a week ( for my 70th birthday) - should be some nice scenic runs over there. I plan on running to some beaches and wife will follow in the rental car
Tomorrow I'll be running in a new running group that's just started in my village. I went last week and had a lovely run around with the fellow beginners. I'll be back to my home parkrun on Saturday after 4 weeks away and, depending on how that goes, I might do another 10k on Sunday just to prove I can do it again! 😀
I've just found out that my local Parkrun has moved from a course I wouldn't contemplate before to one that sounds much better. I've had a look at the times and there are people who come in around my time as well. Might go along on Saturday as a Parkrun virgin...
Love Parkrun - enjoy 😀
Nervous! I'll post if I do go
Go for it. I did my first ParkRun on holiday exactly one week after finishing C5K and loved it. I have only managed to get to my local one once since then but that was good too. In the meantime I have been building my stamina so hope to get to another one soon. Everyone is so friendly
What a lovely day. We are still getting up early following the 2 hour time change from Sicily, so I was out at about 8.30.
After running Stepping Stones on Monday I decided to run the B10K week one just once more before progressing to week 2 and changed the route a bit just to try and extend the distance so that I don't have to keep running loops in the meadow now that the grass is getting frosty.
I returned to a road that I ran in the early weeks of C5K and was surprised to find it is not as steep as I remembered, in fact not steep at all!
I found this run very easy, I wasn't desperate for the one minute walk intervals and probably ran about 6k after deducting the walking sections.
I kept my jacket on, but the hat then the gloves soon came off.
