i didn't set out to, it just seemed to happen. This morning was beautiful, my running rhythm seemed to be just right, so I just carried on and before I knew it I had passed the 6, 7, 8, 9 and then 10km. I am so chuffed with myself and when the hubbie came to meet me I couldn't wipe the smile off my face. Go me!!!!! 3 months ago I couldn't run for toffee now the half marathon trainings going to plan and I feel better than I have in years. I might still be plodding my way round and I might still look like a red faced elephant but hey this plodders loving every minute of it. Roll on the Bath Half in March I'm coming to get you. πŸ‘ŸπŸ˜³πŸ€“πŸ‘Ÿ

Very well done! Nice feeling isn't it...keep up the good work! I am impressed that you are doing a half marathon in March. Which training plan are you doing?

I must be mad but I signed up for the half marathon as a way of keeping my motivation and focus - I haven't actually started any structured plan but I have followed on from the c25k by carrying on running 30mins tues and thurs, I do my local Parkrun on a Saturday and then have just been trying to increase my time and distance little by little on a Sunday. This morning everything just seemed to fall in to place so I think I'm going to carry on like this for a bit longer - the time wasn't great, 1hr 20mins but hey it was a PB for me and I felt OK when I stopped so think I should be able to carry on this way for now πŸ‘ŸπŸ€“πŸ‘Ÿ

Well done Nathan80 that's brilliant :-) There must be something in the air today as I did my first one too - will post separately on that. Just great job, I have an idea what this must mean to you πŸ˜€

Yes, it will be my first HM! I am running up to 10 miles on my long run and did the Great South Run in Portsmouth just over a week ago - that was a 10 miler (16k), so "just" have another 5k to add to my distance! My plan is to consolidate a 10 mile run every few weeks for the next couple of months and then gradually increase again in the new year. Look forward to comparing notes.☺

Oh that's brilliant. Those are the best runs, when you just keep going because you're in the zone... Well done you! x

Fantastic! Think that's the way to do your first 10k, no pressure, just the enjoyment. I'm close to signing up for bath half too, I should just do it:)

Yes just sign up 😏 I decided that having something to look forward too will keep my motivation and give me something to look forward too as am plodding through the cold winter mornings, roll on March - it may not be fast and it may not be pretty but I'll make it through to the end I'm sure of that πŸ€“πŸ‘ŸπŸ‘ŸπŸƒπŸ»πŸ€“
