Translated....BJ everyone I am a new member. I am 62 years old and I practice jogging a long time. My problem is always how to choose my shoes to do this.

Ahhhh Dave, but why on earth did this person use the word "espadrilles" ? From what I remember of my days living in France "espadrilles" are more sandals made of cloths with sort of rope soles..... Mfamilias may be able to enlighten us

Probably because they are French? Espadrilles, sneakers, shoes, all about the same meaning..😁

I thought running in "espadrilles" is a bit odd, aswell. Aren't they some kind of sandal?

They're canvas shoes with rope soles. Run with them in the rain and you discover what it's like to run with your feet strapped to planks ;)

Yes I confirm that espadrilles are not the word in French for running shoes. I have lived here in France for the past 32 years and have never heard it used in that way . But hey maybe it's a regional thing ? ? ?

Bienvenue.

Some can have rubber soles, maybe she has these and thinks it would be the name for running shoe's.. hope she comes back.. 😊

All we need is Floss to have a go at French now, she's probably expert with that as well as English, I'm not doing anymore French, was never a strong point for me, although love the countries ambiance a Café's for parking motorbikes up outside, having travelled a lot of it..😊
