Well, the fun has most certainly returned with a vengeance!!....And it’s so nice to be experiencing it. I almost have to pinch myself 😊.
I have fallen in love with Sgt Garmin 💂🏼 (and he very secretly, loves me too!💂🏼...😳..🤫).
I have completed 4 weeks of my 15 week 10k plan yesterday and I’m out running 3 times a week, doing drills and a long run, (the long run takes about an hour, with Jeff’s run/walk plan and I love it! 😁)!
I have been quite resistant to being on a programme since I completed C25K and have bumbled along doing my own thing, as and when I please 😊. Please don’t knock it though, I’ve achieved some great stuff with just going with how I feel and fun being the only requirement. But...I have a new romance with running 😘 🏃🏽♀️, curtesy of the amazing gift of my Sgt Garmin 💂🏼 and what I thought was a very wild thought, but joining the LEJOG virtual run/walk anyway 🇬🇧 . A bit like a blind date (I imagine 🤷🏽♀️), when you decide to turn up and just see how it goes and ✅ ...it’s a match!! 🤩
I have just entered yesterday’s mileage and I’m now over 127 miles on the LEJOG4 Tour 🇬🇧 and in position 339 😱 (For now!..😂). I’ve been running with my back up band of Commitments 🎵 🎶 in a very sweet melody! I do 5 minutes of HIIT every morning, I’ve reached what would have seemed a crazy step goal, almost every day and after looking 👀 and realising that I’m too close not to be inspired 😲, I’ve even run around the house late in the evening for a bit to make sure that I do 😂. I haven’t missed a day in my plan either (even though Sgt Garmin would let me reschedule 💂🏼...🙄...😳...🤫).
I received my 100 miles postcard this week and I now think I might be able to go all the way!! 🤔...😲...🤭...Did I just say that?...Yes, I’ve left LE behind now and I might just get to JOG! 🇬🇧🦾🏃🏽♀️😃

What an amazing year this is turning out to be. I have a daily notification on my phone that says ‘this is the best year yet’! And to be honest...it might easily have been deleted ☺️, but I could not help but think 💭 ...possibly...there’s still time! And...🧚🏽♀️...here we are!! I think I might just have cracked it. I hope to look at that notification on the 31st December and say, ‘absolutely’!
And as the days pass by, I’ll be making my way North too on LEJOG!! 🇬🇧😉❤️
It's great that you will be able to look upon such a topsy turvy year as heralding positive changes. I see that the autocorrect gremlin changed my opening 'wowee' to 'where' 🤣 - sorry about that but it's nice to know you're going to such a lovely area. We'll have to try and meet for a socially distanced jog (+☕🍰) before you move! 🤩
Hey Slinkymalinki!! 😁 That would be great. You’re on for a social distance jog. It will be a while before I move as my son is doing his A’ Levels, so we might even get to have a normal jog 😂😉!
2020 will definitely be a weird one. The year we have really had to make decisions about how we live and what is really important to us. And whilst everyone has not thought the same, running has been a great way to keep on going with only hope...regardless!
I saw on my NRC App that I had my fastest 10k in February this year and I don’t even remember doing it 😳, but I’ll have it. I hope to have more of that too! 😃❤️
Oh that's good - time is on our side! It gives me time to get rid of this annoying plantar fasciitis. I'm only running once a week at the moment as I'm on my feet all day but doing some strength & HIIT at home to banish the lockdown pounds!🤣 Well done for your fastest 10k, my aim is to get back up to 10k again. My son is a bit behind yours - he's just turned 16 & in Yr 11 doing GCSEs this year. Let's hope that everything works out well for them both! 🤞
Oh the lockdown pounds...🙄🙄🙄...oh my...it’s been like shifting a bag of rocks in the earlier stages and I still feel a few of those stones weighing me down a bit 😂. I have found HIIT brilliant though! 🤩 Nothing too long and I now have a very short 5 mins routine every day. I consider it my morning wake up! Even if all else goes slightly adrift, I can say I’ve achieved something today! 😁
Yes, I’m really hoping for the best for the kids. This is my son’s final year and he’s heart is set on Uni, so I’m hoping that he is able to get to go where he would like, doing what he’s dreaming off. Though, I will miss him so much! 🥴 They’re both so supportive of my running. And they’ve been a massive inspiration too. I dare not go out with them mind. Far too athletic! ✋🏽 🤣 But, myself and my youngest have done a charity 5k run for Prospect Hospice together. Such a great experience to have him waiting for me at the finish line! Makes me well up just thinking about it! 😊 ❤️

What a happy report to read first thing in the morning!! Congratulations on ALL your achievements this week. I think I need a sgt Garmin!! I should see what is available on my device but I think it’s more basic - although I often see posts here (about VO2 for example) and realise I’ve had that all the time! 🤷♀️ You can soon move up the leaderboard too as I’ve done 159 miles and I’m 221! You don’t feel far behind and I’ve a busy childcare week ahead.

Sgt Garmin and the daily step goals has made a big difference. You just can’t hide from him 💂🏽♂️...🤨...! He’s quick to tell you to move and he adds more steps required quickly too!! Too quick...😂, but I definitely feel an improvement in my fitness.

Yes, I was meant to have the first stage interview on the 6th April, but everything was put on hold due to lockdown. It then restarted at the beginning of August, which I was pleased about, as I was never really sure that they were going to proceed. So it’s all pretty fantastic really!! 😁❤️

Thank you so much GTFC!! 🤗 I’m really excited about the job too!! 🤩, but I have a month to go before I start. It’s soooo tempting to carry on with research and preparations, but I’ve been doing that for a couple of months and it feels a little odd not having to do that now. I’ll get more facts when I start.
So, I’ve decided to just rest, relax, run & read (maybe just a little DIY), but basically have this time freely just enjoying every day, knowing there’s lots of amazing things to look forward to too! 👌🏽
