Early morning meet up with Shake-and-run before it gets too hot. It was 16c and we were pondering whether we needed a jacket - after 3 weeks, I guess we must be acclimatising! S&R is trying to increase her distance but isn’t confident enough yet to run it all, so wanted to Jeff round the lake. After much faffing with a malfunctioning Garmin (still!) we resorted to the stopwatch on my iPhone and Strava, who I think must have still been in bed, because we were lacking verbal notifications. 6.3k in total and I couldn’t resist a final sprint down the road and across the bridge, finishing with a 400m PB of 1.47, which by my reckoning would be a 1k time of 4.30 if I could have kept going. Ha 🤣 Quick drive into Eymet for a petit dejeuner of coffee and pain au raisin. Parfait 😊 Bonne journee tout le monde 🇫🇷
Jeffing!: Early morning meet up with Shake-and... - Bridge to 10K
Jeffing!
Looks so beautiful there Sandra! FYI just been reading it’s National Creme Brûlée Day, don’t let me down! xx
What a lovely sunny run for you and SAR. Sounds like you are totally settled into your French life. Happy running 🤗
What beautiful photos - that looks like an amazing spot to run. Well done on your PB!
Thank you for your patience with garmin and me! It was a lovely morning!
Wonderful run and location in impeccable company Sandie. Disgraceful exhibitionism in the last 400m though (nobody more zealous than a convert!). Not a bad place to be quarantined if the worst came to the worst! 🙂
Sorry 😐 I don’t think I could have continued for much longer but I had a nice little downward slope at the start and couldn’t resist a blast 😂 We’re not planning to be back until mid September, so goodness knows what it will be like, but if we have to quarantine on return it won’t bother us. In the meantime, we have sunshine and blue skies, socially distanced outdoor events, fantastic restaurants with appropriate measures in place and, as of 25 July, when the latest figures were published the Dordogne had zero active covid cases, so I feel safer here than at home. More than happy to stay put 😃
Nothing wrong with Sandie’s ‘sprint finish’, she had my permission. Also as I hold her back for the whole of the run (me being a ‘steady’ sort of runner) it is fabulous to see a clean pair of heels disappearing in the direction of the car park, inspires me to also run As fast as I can for those last few metres, even if it is supposed to be a walk segment.
Fantastique!
How lovely that you can share one of your runs of the week with shake-and-run while you are on holiday Sandie, not to mention petit dejeuner. I’ve got a grapevine in my garden so you could say we are also dining in a vineyard tonight
🍷🍷😃😎
That all looks gorgeous Sandie!
Looks so beautiful there Sandie, idyllic in fact. 😎
Oh nice. The pair of you have inspired me to research jeffing again. Enjoy the french summer and stay safe down there
Thankfully it has got a bit cooler. I have to say though that it feels more relaxed but safer here than in the UK so I’m in no hurry to go back. Vive la France 🇫🇷
I’m not sure if I’ll even get back. Things are changing so quickly. At least people are wearing masks everywhere here. I have to learn how to run in the heat. And get up early to run !
I thought you were in France just now?
Get Back home I mean. I’m in France for the summer and maybe I’ll stay on If i can.
Just saying hello paulanoo, haven't seen you for a while. How are you and your running I wonder? Good to see you! 😊
Hi over61+, I’m jeffing these days and really enjoying it. I think I can increase my distance without injury. It’s not so hard on my knee. Hope you are well yourself ? 🤗
Not running due to knee injury from gardening.

Gets worse. 😞 Heard today from a lady who has seen my MRI scan that she thinks that I have a meniscal tear and a tibia plateau fracture. The orthopaedic department will apparently discuss me tomorrow. Maybe I need a knee brace, crutches and a arthroscopy operation. Oh dear!
Happy Jeffing to you. 😊
