I have posted on C25K. apologies if you have read the ramble..
My first Runniversary today, I started C25K a year ago to the day, and unbelievably, today I completed 10K.
It was slow, ( 1 hr 15 mins and a few seconds...) and I kind of sneaked up on it, by pretending I was running 5K, then at 5K, I had quick gulp of water, and pretended I was just starting to run 5K...( again). It worked. I even finished , with style, ( a bit of a sprint) , as Laura would say.
it has taken a year..but I had no desperate urge to push too fast and too far. I simply enjoy running and the journey so far has been amazing. Thank you everybody for the advice, support and giving me the confidence to just carry on running

Floss i think you have to hit the Graduate10 badge link on this forum, not c25k, youve probably already realised too! Cant wait to see that new badge against your name xπ
Well done and I like your appraach. Now I have to ask you as someone who seems to be (also) a bit addicted, where next? I would like to not feel driven to do more and just to stick at around a 10k every few weeks or so. How about you?
I am a bit shocked that I reached this point really... I need to think and figure where to go next.. I am well known for my slightly random running ideas... so who knows... tomorrow I my have some ideas
Having a little smile to myself today. One of the things I love about this job is watching people go through their journey. I remember you joining the Bridge to 10k, so nervous and didn't think you belonged, look at you now with your badge. Happy Runnervesary.
πππππππHappy runniversary Oldfloss and I am so happy for you having just run your first 10k! (Didn't I say you could run 10k just the other day?!) You have always run for the sheer joy of running and that comes across so strongly in your wonderful posts, but I know this was something that you wanted to achieve and it's fab news, and on a special day too! xx
You did, you did...your support means so much to me... having been with me from the outset! Thank youx
I hope if it happened, it would be about now..but it just all fell into place...not intended...but happy chance and really enjoyed.
I will never be a great runner, but, I am a happy runner and I get so much more from it than just the run... although yesterday it was..just the run... and the sheer joy of being able to do it, happily and comfortably Aren't I lucky ?
Thanks you I think it happened because I just keep on, an on, and on Slow, steady and who knows what happens! It may not happen again...but it was very special for my Runniversary!
It has.. I started after last year's French holiday.. Are you back in the UK now ?
I don't think it is fast.. it didn't feel it...I think the quick gulp of water, and me kidding myself, ..."oh now I'll run for 5K", ( which was the second one).. worked...and I did have a fast blast right at the end..I was a tad pleased.. it was, for my anniversary, perfect!
It has taken a year don't forget too... and an awful lot of runs in between. I am still in awe of folk like you
Yes, I'm home, I left last Sunday, had a few days in Spain with a lovely run by the sea, then took the boat from Bilbao, an interminable 30 hour crossing... got home very late Thursday night. I'm doing the Town and Gown 10K with Madge from here tomorrow, I'm looking froward to it, but a little nervous as the sort of running I do in France is mostly hopping from patch of shade to patch of shade, I only did one non stop 10k while I was there to see if I still could.. My first 10K took me over an hour and a half...
