Anyone else feeling a little fresher on their runs now that summer is showing signs of slipping away? Cool, breezy and a little wet this afternoon when I set out on my 10k after a day of rain. My trails were muddy and the fields were wet and I 'bravely' tackled a couple of hills (slowly but surely๐ฎ). But the best bit was the noticeable effect of running in milder temperatures and feeling that I still had fuel in the tank at the end - being able to push myself a little in that last km! Today, was a good day to run!๐๐๐ป. Next weekend I am planning a 14/15k (that's as accurate as I get, I'm afraid!) as part of my 10 mile training. Hope it's cool then too!

Cooler running at last!
I suppose when winter sets in with a vengeance we'll be yearning for the longer, sunny days but right now I'm always glad of rain and its cooling effect. Sounds like your running is going really well. When is your 10 mile race? October, isn't it?
Yep i loved my parkrun in the heavy drizzle this morning, way better for me than the sunshine! Sounds like your training is going great Sandra!
Well.. if you read my return home post, you know how I feel.. loving the cooler air... and the dampness...hoping tomorrow is cool for a longer run. So excited at the thought of a Sunday run on my own patch
Yep, it's definately improving!!!
Oh no! My weather app is saying 27 degrees on Tuesday - not so good!๐ฎ
Yes! Actually, it hasn't started here yet, but soon.... makes me wonder why I spend more than half the year in a furnace...
Yes! Dew on the grass, a little "chilly" on getting up from bed in the morning, love it! It sounds as if your training is going really well Sandra. ๐๐โญ๏ธ
I wish it were cooler here in Munich. We've still got blazing summer temperatures up to 30C, which is great for the street festivals, but crap for running! Oh for 14 degrees again! On the other hand the open air parties are great fun!
Just done 10k in Central Park in NYK. Summer was far from over. 5:30am start and it was 78f and 85 percent humidity. But I am looking forwards to getting home and being back in reasonable heat. Oh and Harlem Hill is a killer.
Hmmmm... I got caught out today thinking it would be cooler and it was hot, hot, hot.
