Toffee legs report

My calves were sore on Monday which kept slowing me down, Wednesday I managed a steady 3k without stopping with a little discomfort. Today, I went to Race for Life at Stamford. First 3k was pretty uncomfortable and I even thought about sliding off with the 5k runners. Made myself keep going and once I got to 5k, felt pretty good and ran and ran some more. Even managed a sprint 10k finish and could perhaps have gone further! Feeling encouraged because I plodded past a few people younger than me so I put that down to having a good steady pace and running regularly. Legs feeling a little tight but will rest up. Half Marathon in September ๐Ÿ˜ฆ๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿ’ฅ

Brilliant Julie ! Many Congratulations to you , you did it !! I am so glad your legs held out, and you still had some left in the tank after which is fantastic !

It is sooo hot today too !

Well done , and enjoy a well deserved rest ! :-) xxx

Yay - so pleased to hear it all went okay. Hope you can get everything in full working order in time for Sept, but now you have this 10k under your belt you must be feeling confident in your ability to bring it all together on the day :) Congrats :)

Yes, it felt good to complete the event strongly even if the start was shaky. Can see I am a strong steady plodder and that means I can keep going. Much of the battle was about confidence and determination. Having a sore leg is ok, need to make sure it doesn't become an injury. Will have 2 days of rest, then do 3 X 5k this week unless I feel like Superwoman

I'm sure even Superwoman has the odd 3 x 5k week. And I still think it's amazing to even be able to do that :)

Superb JoolieB1 really well done , a hot day and your legs made it through ok ๐Ÿ˜Š

Great news that your legs got you round the Race for Life. All those hours of running have paid off and given you the stamina to overtake those bright young things! Hope your calves don't give you any more grief and its onwards now to your HM ๐Ÿ˜Š

Great news that you managed it - I know you were a bit worried. But you've got so much mileage in your legs and have run 10k so often we all knew you could do it. Glad you enjoyed yourself!
