Morning runners! Hope your weekends been a good one.
Sunday morning, cold but dry, few icey spots. Whacked the gear on, a trance playlist on Spotify and headed out.
No route or distance planned so just had my warm up walk to a regular start line and just ran, just went which way i felt like, kept the pace steady. Spotted some playful squirrels at about 3k just as I felt totally warmed up and relaxed, funnily enough on an up hill section π€£, I hit a few of those today π€£.
I took the brakes off a little for kilometres 9 and 10 and went for a pretty strong finish and then decided to run another km just to get a bit closer to home π
11km toward January's total, felt good throughout with no pains or problems ππ»
I hope everybody running today has the same ππ»

Nice run for you, bet you feel good getting it done we are still looking out the window and wondering as itβs raining, donβt like running in the rain, but at least it will be quieter out there
Rain I don't mind, once your wet your wet lol it's -2 here temperature wise but quite a nice day apart from the cold. Yeah glad I've got it done, rest of day to relax now ππ»
Well thatβs a productive way to start a Sunday morning - definitely a fast finish-11k in total- youβll probably see it as a jog around the block now but to us mere mortals we see itβs an impressive distance ! πͺπ½ππ»
Oh it still surprises me that I can run as far as I can π€£ but yeah 10k is beginning to feel very standard, 1hr1min today so a fair old pace once I got moving. I've deffo got sub 5 minute km in me but don't want to go flat out for long periods in case of any injuries.
I'm waiting for a little while longer. The slow cooker has been prepped with chicken thighs in mushroom sauce (actually mushroom soup and sliced mushrooms), so that's the evening meal mostly sorted.
I popped out about 11pm last night to put a full bin bag into the outside bin. There was freezing fog. The lid of the wheelie bin had frozen shut. It was deceptively slippery on the pavements, too.
Sounds another comfortable run, and fast π₯΅ like Bambi2020 says 11k used to be quite a distance!Funny how the body gets used to these distances now, and nice to go out with no plan, just run! We've had alot of snow down here, been for a walk, might have to put of tomorrows run, if it's too slippy! βΉ
Well done J2332... a great looking run! I am soooooo very envious (nay jealous!!) - of your speed and distance of course - but mainly of the fact that you were able to get out and run!
Hope itβs not too late to reply but hey...better late than never! Just wanted to let you know that your encouragement did the trick! I stepped out first thing yesterday morning and had fun running very slowly/carefully in the 3-5β deep snow and covered 10k! So if I run alternate days (and it doesnβt freeze up badly) I should just reach 100k after all!! π€£π€π»
