The Administrators and this amazing forum have always maintained that the hardest bit is getting out the door, so I am off.
Oh yes surprised myself alright.ππ
First run for 4 weeks.I am back in the 9-10 mins/ km band.Best ever 5k just in the 7-8 mins/ km band.
So I am sitting about wk4/wk5 in C25k.
Going to build up little and often to 3k and 5k and by keeping in the 8-9 min/ km band.I can always return to the tried and tested method if needs dictate.
Thank you all in this magnificent forum for who and what you are.

Shapely pair of pins you have there, young laddie!
Back on duty indeed - though managed have managed a 6k and an intervals session this week and am hoping to complete a gentle long run tomorrow morning.
Think it will be difficult to motivate myself once the evening runs are in the dark.
π€£π€£, I'm doing ok thanks, week 5 starts tomorrow π€knee holding up so far, I think starting again with the correct trainers was the right choice for me.
This is indeed a wonderful forum, love reading everyoneβs stories, although Iβm always 12 hours behind the news, when you mentioned Invercargill I giggled and thought of Mick Jagger who said on the Stones tour of 1966 that Invercargill was the aβehole of the world. Most unkind, possibly true then though. Invercargill a long way from your home?
Mick Jagger is a fool.Probably never done a real days work in his life. Can only talk a good game. But as a singing artist well letβs be kind.
Whatβs not to like about South Island, all of it.
I am a smelter boy from Kinlochleven. There is a book by Patrick McGill , Children of the dead end.
I am bias and view Invercargill differently.
Kinlochleven now has the largest indoor ice climb in the world, wonder if MJ has tried that or any of the many Munroβs in the West Highlands let alone the 3000 meter plus mountains in NZ.
We think in the UK 3000 feet is a mountain.π€
Even your sheep are twice the size of ours.π€πππ
Iβve always said Tbae that this forum is an education, thank you. The book you mention and the author more especially interest me. I have recently started my family tree and discovered that I have McGills from Donegal who became Magills when they emigrated to New Zealand who married more of my ancestors from Tyrone. Kinlochleven looks a beautiful place PS (MJβs legs might be all right for prancing on stage, but they aint runners legs eh?) πΈ
I feel your motivational magic and that of the forum when I go.
Hey thatβs kind.cannot even take a selfie.ππ¦
Got my plan to get back to where I was 4 weeks ago.
42k per week,for 3 weeks and 4th week 22k.
Got the final stone, the pot, to get off, without loss of muscle.11-7 is my target in around 2 monthsπ€
Do not want to carry that if I can shift it.
With all that running and dumbells hope to tick the box.β
I reckon in this morningβs assessment I am week4/wk5 of C25k.Perhaps not that catchup amount after 4 weeks not injured but not really running.
Going out now to just run 5 k at any pace and get round.
I am so pleased to be back running and feeling the power of this forum again.
I count my blessings everyday that I found it.
Take good care of you.
Need to catch up with your posts.
Is your badge being polished or have you got it safely away in your drawer.π€

The forum, as we all know, is fantastic...better than any social media in the WORLD!! Iβm on here more than any other...my badge is still being polished, fingers crossed that in the next few days I will be wearing it with pride....at long last!! Phew...itβs like waiting for a baby to be born!!! Hahaha x
Parkrun was great thanks . Garmin said I did a PB but parkrun stats didnβt, but it did take a long time for me to get to the start line today. It doesnβt worry me as I just like being there.
We did run as well as sort tokens today so got two ticks in 1 day.
Going to prune and remove all unattractive shrubs , prepare all
the beds for winter and replanting next year.
I am so pleased to be back on here and running.
