I ran on Sunday...as, a few of you know, one of my favourite days to run. My very long, ramble post is on C25K.
I intended it to be a shortish run, but, as is happening more frequently now, turned out longer; 7.25 in approximately 55 minutes, with three very quick photo stops.
So, my average distance has crept up, ( still in the beginners group on this forum), and I am poddling along happily.
I am enjoying also, reading, and experiencing vicariously, the awesome feats performed by so many of you
The photo is taken on the Steam railway line, which has featured in many of my posts.

Well done Floss. Longer runs are more enjoyable I reckon. Once you've got your kit on you might as well go for it. I ran a short un last night and it was over with before I'd warmed up. Still, it was as per schedule so it had to be done. Feels unfulfilling though. Love your photo! The railway tracks leading into the distance to take you who knows where, urging you to follow.
Thanks you... it is what I am finding more and more...the longer runs just happen, are so enjoyable, and surprisingly my times are reasonable, (not that it is an issue for me anyway).
I should be out this morning, but it was, and still is really raining. I don't think I would have gone anyway... as I have a touch of mild heat/sun stroke... I know... in the UK, unbelievable; I was in the garden over two days, humping huge bags of compost and pots around, because there was a bit of cloud and a breeze, I forgot my sun hat!!!Big mistake!
I spent yesterday in a spaced out state... and had to up my water intake until I was properly and completely hydrated again, thank goodness for Realfoodieclub 's info on hydration and her p**chart!!!!
I would love to follow the tracks, and have walked them, on non-Steam days..but the track at the side is really uneven and dodgy... I might try though... I am tempted
I've just been out with the dog, messing about by the railway line footpaths, under a very low bridge which, when the train passes over your head, is way unnerving. Drizzly but very warm out this morning. We managed nearly 9 k but I was conscious of the fact that I have a 12k run later so didn't want to get wandering too far (as I am wont to do). Got a trail route planned! Lunch first though.
For me, it is... just part of this whole wonderful journey. x
Mind you, lying down taking the photo.. interesting... I did the same at the top of the field too...all part of life's rich tapestry... I often, am quite glad there are really no folks about sometimes, watching the antics of this loopy runner!
So true, oh so true... I have to say, when I taught, I feel one of the reasons I was successful in my teaching career, and the reason the children liked me so much, (and they did, weirdly), and worked so hard for me, was because I was a tad loopy!!!
I think I prefer the longer runs too ! Getting up to 5k for me is a struggle sometimes , I get tired around the 3.5k mark and will myself to keep going. Then once I get over 5k everything seems to slot into place and I think I could go on for a lot longer .
Funny this running lark isn't it ? Kicks up all sorts of surprises xxx
It does... and that is what is one of the best things about it... just when you think you are completely exhausted... there you are, still going... and what is more, enjoying it!!!!
I totally love the whole thing... and a lot of it is thanks to you... for supporting me in those early days ...x
