Happy to report my speed is back up to post op status for my 5km.
I have done three consecutive 5km at my old pace now. I work on the principle, one is a fluke, two is a coincidence and the third is an achievement ππ.
I do think the dynamic core workouts have helped with this as not only am I back to my post op pace I can feel that with a little pushing I could get a little faster.
I am back to my run/walk. I was going to go for full on running but my heart rate didn't like it and therefore I stopped enjoying my runs. So back I went to my 1min/1min run/walk and the happiness returned. I only run for me so I'm going to run the way I enjoy it.
I'm going to keep going with core work as it makes a massive difference in my opinion. I still hate it but it reminds me of the first weeks learning to run, while your doing it every fibre in my body was going WHYβ¦β¦.., then afterwards I felt strong and could feel the difference. I'm hoping that with time I will learn to love it as much as running if I just keep going.
Wishing you a happy healthy weekend
Rfc x.

Gosh! 5 months already? seems like a few weeks, I expect it doesn't for you! Well done on getting back up to speed on your 5k, that must feel like a massive landmark. I too do a lot of run/walk these days I rarely feel like doing straight running, but run/walk is brilliant isn't it? Onwards and upwards!
I know some days it doesn't feel long other days it feels years ago π. You know I love my run/walk it just suits me, to me it's like a whole session of interval training.
Scouts Pace... it works... go you Rfc...it is brilliant that you are getting back there, safely and happily
I am still walk/running too... should have had a run this morning... but Little Mum called out the Grammy, at 8 a.m. and I ended up doing another six miler with small one... I am wondering about a running buggy!
You have done really well, I cannot believe it is 5 months!!! Mr Rfc is good too?
Wow you are walking some at the moment, that as well as Grammy duties will be keeping you very fit. The running buggies look cool, I wonder if you could hire them to ty them out. MrRfc is doing really well thank you, it's the height of the bowls season so he is really happy, winning his own trophies ππ.
Thank you. It has been such an eye opener, but to be honest I only really started to do it properly because someone was physically watching over me.π.
It's all very positive news RFC, thank goodness ππͺπββοΈβοΈπ
