hehe. I was training for a HM, and spent ages getting my distance up. Then I made it and thought woohoo I can do a HM. So I didn't do any more long runs for a few weeks. Then I found the sneyd pudding run and had to run 10 miles. To say I was worried was an understatement, but it was OK and I could have gone on if it had been a longer run.

So don't worry too much. 9 miles is a long way, but it's doable, and your coach knows what (s)he is asking.
