Hello my lovely ladies, it's me again, .....so my last post was about 10 weeks ago, quick update, had vaginal bleeding last year due to Tamoxifen...., in January 2020 had hysteroscopy and womb biopsies done( all clear), thank god! Polyp was found 4cm, surgery was booked for February, cancelled because of Covid19, anyway had new date for surgery April 2020 had polyp removed D+C procedure done, and polyp sent for testing(Benign)...4 weeks of no bleeding it was bliss, the bleeding started again mid May to end of May 2020, and just got heavier an heavier to the point I ended up in A+E a few days ago, turns out I'm seriously anemic, iron tablets given, and Tranexamic acid (utter rubbish) I'm housebound because of the blood loss, I've got period pains and cramps aswell ,im extremely pale , tired, weak, and breathless, I'm so fed up!😪 so now I'm waiting for MRI scan on my womb to see properly what's going on, I'm on 2 weeks referral, so just got to suffer in silence until then, oh I've been advised to stop Tamoxifen because that is probably the cause of it all again, what confuses me is I literally only had Polyp removed and D+C, an biopsy done 12weeks ago, so what has happened since then, I'm very worried, please no scary stories....kind words please .....from a very anxious and fed up lady xx
Its started again.....: Hello my lovely... - My Breast Cancer ...
Its started again.....
Hi, sorry to read about your recent issues. I had a similar experience 2 years ago. In January 2018 whilst taking tamoxifen I started having lower left side abdominal pain, went to GPs and was referred to hospital for an ultrasound scan. This showed a cyst so I was sent for an MRI a few weeks later which showed a polyp. I was advised to stop tamoxifen whilst they further investigated. I was sent for an hysteroscopy which I found uncomfortable and kept tensing up, at the end of it she did say there was a lot of what she called 'gubbins' that she could not account for but had a feeling it was something sinister so I left there absolutely shaken! I had a 10 day wait for biopsy result which thankfully came back negative for cancer but she did say they needed to take another sample as she had only been able to take a small sample nearer to the 'front'but wanted to check beyond it to be safe so I was booked for another hysteroscopy but under anaesthetic. So I had another one and had another agonising wait for results. In the mean time I too experienced very heavy bleeding that was soaking through everything, dripping down my legs etc...so I went to A&E, spent most of the day there as they didn't really know what to do with me after looking into my history and recent tests so they sent for a consultant from the gynaecology department who I had been seeing since all this started. She gave me the results of my last hysteroscopy and I had a thickened endometrium due to tamoxifen and my bleeding was the thickened uterus lining that had built up coming away, in clots etc...
I ended up having a hysterectomy and ovaries removed in may 2018.
I wonder if yours is similar, tamoxifen has some pesky side effects and I seemed to be the unlucky one that had all the worst ones going!
I hope this reassures you a little that whatever is going on might not be the worst, let us know how you get on, take care.
Thanks Cazlav, you have responded to me in the past and it's very nice of you to take the time ...... and yes your experience in 2018 sounds very similar too what I'm experiencing now, I too think it is hyperplasia and it's a massive build up of my womb lining, because I've had a few biopsies taken this year that is giving me a bit a reassurance at least, I'm so so fed with what the Tamoxifen has done , I thing a hysterectomy is on the horizon, I cant cope with this, I just want to move on with my life, I hope you are doing well🥰
Good Morning .....I had exactly the same happen to me ...ended up being fibroids and polyps .. was given Trans acid tablets ...they did help but not for long .....I was told a D and C wouldn't make much difference ..I had a coil fitted and never looked back ...but i have had it removed because of breast cancer ....but all ok now ....try not to worry ...I think this is a common thing for ladies of a certain age .....lets hope you get it sorted soon xxx
Thanks for replying Jackie, you always give good advice, I feel a bit better, just exhausted 😒xx
Yes worry does grind you down ....just one day at a time ...one bridge at a time you'll be feeling crap with your blood loss ...is there anything that can be done to help stop that ? x
Hi there, no wonder you are fed up, it sounds so draining physically on top of all the inevitable worrying. I havent any helpful experience to pass on but hope they can sort out the problems quickly. Its really tough when it goes on and on and exhausting. I hope you have some lovely people to support you during this horrible time. I wish you the very best; hold on to the good things around you, the love of family and friends, the sunshine, the odd bit of chocolate perhaps. Hugs Caroline xx
Never experienced anything like this, just sending love and hugs that it's easily resolved xxx
