Vit D3 amount

Hi. Due to either old age (I'm 74) or steroid use I have osteoporosis in my spine. I will not take bisphonates so take vits D3 with K2 and Mg supplements and am pretty active. The vits come from New Leaf and are 4000 in D3 with 100 ųg K2. Are these doses OK or too high? If the latter, can I cut them?

Have you had your calcium and vitamin D levels checked by your GP? I keep my levels within the range by drinking 1Ltr of almond milk so I don’t need to supplement even since being on zolendronic acid I have managed to keep my blood levels in a healthy range without supplements. It is worth getting them checked with your gp because you don’t want to over do calcium or vitamin D. Take care

Many thanks. It would appear that the 4000 iu I am presently taking daily is a very high dose. It comes with K2 (New Leaf product). Would it be OK to cut the tablets or take one a week? I buy these myself and have never been prescribed D3 even though a DEXA scan showed that I have osteoporosis in my drive and osteopaena in my hips.

Hi. I'm just following a webinar where several experts in different fields give video presentations ...all focus on Osteoporosis. Apparently vitamin k2 and D3 together block each other from the body absorbing either. I always took these 2 supplements together. Now I take them with separate meals. Just thought I'd share that as it's important. xx
