Combined supplements

Hi, does anyone have experience of taking a supplement that contains Vit D3, Vit K2, calcium, copper, magnesium, manganese, selenium, zinc and boron? It seems a nice option just taking one tablet a day, but is it actually more advisable to take things separately?

I take vitamin K2 with D3. Doubt you could them all in one enormous pill though. I take magnesium separately. You can look at foods as well to fill your needs except for K2. D3 is indicated from your blood results.

it is common to get d3 and K2 in one pill and that makes sense. Taking calcium supplement might not be a good idea...better to increase calcium in diet. Some people react badly to magnesium (gut problems). If you take a concoction you might not look carefully at each dose, and the form it is in, And if you have a bad reaction you won't know which you are reacting to. And why take copper??? take a couple of brazil nuts for selenium. zinc often comes with vitamin C so you don't want to take it twice.

Generally, it is better to take them separately. Vitamin d and K2 compete for absorption as do Calcium and Magnesium. Also, the better absorbed formulas for magnesium and calcium are rather low density making them unsuitable for a combination pill. Magnesium oxide fits a lot in a small space but is so poorly absorbed as to be nearly useless.

A lot of people use Jarrow BoneUp which is a good brand and a good product although personally I opt to take individual supplements.

I take mine separately as it’s easier to change things around if necessary. Many, if not most combined tablets don’t have the complete daily dosage in them -for all the vitamins and mineral contained in them, too little usually. Also some vitamins like D3 and K2 are fat soluble and so need to be taken with a fatty meal (I use My Fitness Pal to see what my macros are for each meal. Other trackers available 🙂). If you take a calcium supplement (I get mine from diet) then that should be taken away, as I understand it with at least a 4hr gap, from magnesium.

I take Magnesium in a topical form as a spray. It's usually sea or lake derived magnesium salts

I've been looking for a supplement like that too. The closest I came to something like that was Bone Health by Simply Supplements, it worked well for me. I recently came across Densiboost by Health4all and it looks to be better, so I've ordered it and will give it a trial.

Not what you're looking for?
