I can’t take calcium carbonate so take this instead but I’m having trouble finding it in a tablet/capsule size I can easily swallow. Citracal Petites are recommended but I can’t find anywhere that sells them in the UK that doesn’t have dreadful reviews on Trustpilot. Any recommendations?

Calcium citrate
Haven’t seen or tried Calcium Petites but I really didn’t get on with the various forms of Calcium and vitamin D that I was prescribed for osteoporosis. We worked out that I was probably getting enough calcium in my diet but to be on the safe side I found these which I can take with no problem and I just take vitamin D on its own.
togetherhealth.co.uk/produc.... I get mine on Amazon but you can buy direct from the manufacturers.
yes, there is an alternative. I take Vit.D3 with K2. Have only recently started
as the prescribed meds. caused constipation. My brother in law, told me about it. The one I take I bought in Boots, which is aspray, onto the inside cheek of mouth. Cost £10 fora months supply.
Unfortunately all the ones I tried are all big and difficult to swallow. To be honest I have given up nearly all my vitamins except vitD because they cause me irritable bowel so taking my chances without. At 79 I can't take the pain in my tummy. Good luck its a minefield out there.
I take adcal which are enormous but they are chewable ones.
I used calcium citrate powder for a while. You can mix it into drinks, soup, your meals etc. I'm taking tablets now and find I can swallow them with soup, a smoothie or a 'thick' drink, like tomato juice or V8.
Good morning I to struggle to take calcium carbonate in tablet form as it gives me IBS too and I take a sachet called cacit which my rheumatologist prescribe for meHope this helps
Hi Nuthatch, I take these - photo above - but I take one chewable Adcal a day too, not the 2 recommended by the doctor as I already get lots of calcium ftom my diet and found 2 upset my stomach - I had to break a tablet into 3 pieces and take separately initially, so as not to upset my stomach. The chewable citrate tablets are great, not cheap though, you can get them in the UK, and apparently are less likely to fur up your arteries. I take one of them a day to top up my calcium intake.
