I ordered some online (Amazon) back in 2020 then returned it because I felt worried about taking it - I have well controlled high blood pressure but I just wasn’t sure.

I am sure there are others on here who do take it though and can tell you of their experience with it.

I take a very low dose - have taken a half dose, then quarter dose, now taking 5 tablets in 2 weeks (the full dose is 2 tablets a day). I usually buy Best Naturals strontium citrate from Amazon. When I took a half dose, my spine bone density increased significantly, and I managed to maintain that with a quarter dose. I won't know how I get on with the low dose I'm on now until I have my next scan in about 18 months time. I added in bovine collagen peptides after reducing to quarter dose, so I'm hoping that and exercise will help me to continue to maintain my scores. You need to be aware that strontium may be a risk to anyone with existing heart or kidney problems and may raise blood pressure - this is true of the medication, strontium ranelate, but it isn't known whether the issue is with the strontium or the ranelate compound. Also, strontium is thought to replace some of the calcium in your bones, and as it's denser than calcium, this may be at least part of the reason for increased bone density.

I usually buy Vitabright Pure Bovine Hydrolysed Collagen Peptides powder. It says take 10 - 20 g a day, but I take 5-6g, which is in line with the small study done using Fortibone collagen peptides. I think (but can't be 100% certain) that the Vitabright collagen peptides I use are the equivalent of Fortibone.

I buy it through iHerb.com (American website doing business in and shipping from EU). I'll have a bone density scan on 11 March and see what they say. I've only been taking in for about 2 months and haven't noticed anything about my blood pressure.

I use strontium citrate from Klare Labs that I bought via Dr Sarah Myhill’s site.

I have taken strontium citrate for 15 months now. I originally was taking 1 pill per day, but have reduced it to 2 pills per week as of 3 weeks ago. My bone density increased significantly after taking it for a year and that is why I reduced it to 2 pills per week. I did not notice any change in my health, but I did reduce it because I am aware that it can cause high blood pressure. I do know the bone density increased because strontium is a heavier metal than calcium and therefore this increases the density in your bone scan.

Which brand are you taking? I'm interested in trying it myself. Also do you mind saying more about how your bone density increased significantly. I really need to get to this point as well.

I take strontium support from AOR, you can buy it on Amazon here in Canada. My bone density in spine went from-2.6 to-2.2, which means I am not even in the osteoporosis range now. I am totally aware that taking strontium citrate does make your bone scan look better than it may actually be. I take a dose of 342 mg twice per week. However that is just a supplement, I take many bone building vitamins, like calcium, magnesium, vitamin D, K2 that my naturalpath doctor suggested, I also wear a weighted vest (about 8 lb) every day for about 4 hours and I do weight bearing exercises 3 times per week. I also eat 5 prunes everyday, which I've read is good for osteoporosis. I think it was a combination of doing all these things that have helped. I started all this a year and a half ago after my doctor said he wanted to put me on prolia, and I refused after reading about people with so many problems. I'm only 64, so I want to wait and not take the prolia until I am least in my 70s because you can really only be on it for about 10 years. Hope this helps.

Met00 and TeddyandCocoa how does will get your strontiun checked in your bood, in order to keep it at healthy levels?

Does strontiun replaces AA drugs or other osteo drug family? Or it is more a suplement?🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸

I have read that it is not good to take because it will impact your DEXAs to look more positive than they are in reality - artificially inflates the scan.

Pleased to see all who are doing well taking Strontium. I've been taking it since 2005 with good results and no side effects. For the last few years I've been taking half a dose and maintaining bone quality. Just for reference, I did try Fosamax for 7 1/2 months but due to side effects I took to the books, so to speak, to learn more and feel confident in the strontium citrate.

The brand I'm currently using is Terry Naturally from Amazon. I started with Doctor's Best who stopped making it, and there was one other I don't recall the name of. I'm happy with my current choice but imagine any reputable supplement manufacturer would be safe.

Hi, your experience is quite interesting - so strontium you are taking is not prescribed by a dr but you can buy it online? Thanks

I have been taking a half dose for a little over 2 years. No change in my blood pressure. I have been pleased with the results going from Osteoporosis to Osteopenia in a relatively short time. No side effects whatsoever. No fractures. I take NusaPure from Amazon. 340 mg a day.

Hello GardenerJH I understand that Strontiun citrate it is used instead of these Osteo drugs like AA and others. Is it correct? Or this is more a supplent ? How we control de dosage and effects in your body? Through bood tests? How often?

I do take strontium citrate 1/2 dose… along with fortibone collagen, and 10 mg of silica(it’s a boost for the collagen)…. I did read it offsets the dexta scan but only by 5%… I also take vitamin D3, Vit K(mk4-7) I only take calcium naturally…Greek yogurt with a handful of raw organic walnuts, tablespoon of Chia seeds, and blueberries I will never take medication again. I was on Prolia then had to relay off w Reclast… I also exercise 3/4times a week I try to get a lot of my vitamins and supplements naturally besides dealing with this, I have a cholesterol issue and I’m addressing that through supplements and a healthier diet… was on medication for that as well …I stopped that as well..also would never go on statins again….
