I've had high blood pressure for a few years which I take a cocktail of tablets. Now Dapagliflozin has been added. I'm not diabetic. My dentist said to me are you diabetic I reply no. I went to see my GP and was told it will help with my BP. Question is am I taking tablets I don't need. Fed up of feeling sick all the time.

Dapagliflozin
I have just looked up this drug online, it is used for type 2 diabetes but also heart failure & CKD . Your GP or the practice nurse should explain why he has chosen it. In my GP surgery in London they are happy with a B/P of below 140/80 when taking meds. This is a sensible approach & reassuring to know that we are not being over medicated. Good luck with it all.
My BP this morning was 197/95. That was before my meds. I'm in Wales and they seem to be happy to over medicate. I really don't want to take the meds as it makes me feel really sick.
That is high so you definitely need to get it down. Maybe take it at least 2hrs after taking your meds( u seems to need some of those meds). B/P higher in the morning because of activity( getting out of bed, washing, having breakfast etc). I’m sure you are aware of diet, weight and anxiety all factor in raising those numbers. It is a worry until you get it sorted.
Two years ago I fell off a roof and after 5 weeks in hospital I'm left with taking 8mg Doxazosin twice a day 2mg, Bumetanide twice a day, 5mg Ramipril twice a day,120mg Adizem once a day, 10mg Dapagliflozin once a day. Then there is the pain meds 100mg Pregabalin and 20mg Oxycodone twice a day. I've tried taking the meds at different times. It doesn't matter it's high in the morning and it's high in the evening. The other evening it was 217/111. Is it high because of the pain meds. I've heard pain meds can give you high BP.
Are you stressed, stress can cause high blood pressure also sleep apnea and being overweight. I'm on Dozadosin only for high blood pressure, pressure fluctuates. Your body is stressed because of the pain which is probably why your reading high try deep breathing it work.
your practice may have a pharmacist- many in the UK employ one within a group of practices. If your practice has a pharmacist then get a telephone or in person appointment and ask them to go through it with you, thus giving g you a chance to,discuss how you are feeling. Pharmacists know much more ire about medicines and their side effects and inter-reactions than doctors.
Do your doctors have any thoughts about why your pressure is so high? It's probably a good idea to try the Dapagliflozin and maybe if it works you can back off of some of the other drugs you are taking, with doctor's permission of course. I was going to ask my Dr. about Farxiga (Dapagliflozin) when my BP was out of control, but she finally got it to settle down.
