Losartan and Amlodipine

I've been on Losartan 25mg for a few years with no ill effects whatsoever. Recently doctor upped this to 50mg .This had little effect on my readings but came with a fuzzy head/ dizziness. Back down to 25mg along with 5mg Amlodipine but I still have the fuzzy head/ dizziness. BP readings are fine now. Anyone else on this combination with the same side effects and how long do they last?

I have the same combination, and it does work to keep my BP completely normal. I have not had any side effects, although at one point I did think it was causing leg edema, but that turned out to be from being too sedentary during covid isolation.

Same combination for me and no major problems. This is my 3rd year. I sometimes think your body tells you if things are changing. The last was ones I had were Ramipril and one other which I have forgot. My blood pressure was on average. 100 /200 went to see my doctor following a rush visit to hospital and things have settled down thank goodness .

I am on 100mg of losartan. I dont have any side effects. When my BP was high my doctor prescribed me 5mg amlodipine for 2 weeks. Again I had no side effects apart from blood pressure going down and me feeling better. I am currently on 100mg of Losartsn with some days a month of elevated BP.

I usually get headaches and heavy head when my BP is high.

Thanks, BP was 119/76 this morning. Only been on this combination for a few days so I'll give it more time.

are u taking ur bp readings properly- ie resting for 5 mins or so and relaxing before taking it ? Just thinking that (if not) your readings may be high even though it sounds like u are having low bp at times ?

My readings are the best I've had in years. Just wish I could get rid of this fuzzy head.

You might want to try taking one or both bp meds at night. It helped me with the side effects and is also recommended for effectiveness.

I take both pills at night but I might try one in the morning and one in the evening.

I was on Amlodipin for just 2 weeks.....it was my first medication ever for BP...I had a spike to 210/110...5 mg twice a day..I split the tab to half...and then quit after a week...that was 8 months ago...I had minor effects from Amlodipine but still upsetting....slight swelling in the legs...some fogginess......palpitations.....could hear blood rushing in the veins in my neck when I lay down.....I carry the tabs with me...in the past 8 months, have had to use only once, when my BP started to spike to 185/100...I am doing self relaxation ...usual exercise...am back on normal diet..except only 2 beers at night...staying away from all drugs..I will be 80 in Jan24

I've started going for walks morning and afternoon to try and clear my head. It works for a little while.
