After reading all the lovely post on here, I had a look at all the ingredients on my Multi Vitamin tablets I have just started to take. To my surprise I found Co-enzyme Q10 but only 10mg and Acetyl L Carnitine 20mg and Magnesium 75mg which I have been told I should take with a leaky mitral valve. Obviously there are plenty of other ingredients too! Just knowing that makes me feel better already and my energy has started to improve. Is is mind over matter or does it really help because of iron? I really do eat a healthy varied diet, so is it ok to take one Multi Vit a day?

There was a small study a year or two back saying that multivitamins were not particularly beneficial BUT I don’t remember size or age of cohort studied or whether they had any “co-morbiditirs” ( as we are learning to say).Whether an online search might find you the research I don’t know, but your pharmacist might know how to find it and whether s/he can guide you

My own pharmacist is very knowledgeable so he’s the one I always go to for guidance

Regardless of this, I really do think that it certainly isn’t going to hurt you!!!!

I shall take the Multi Vitamins for a short time and then make up my mind whether to continue.

I was on this too and my legs kept swelling eventually causing cellulitis. I've had to take various blood pressure pills but now with help if my lovely GP I'm getting my BP down after years of being told 'it's a little high' at 170/100!!!!
