Haemorrhoids

Taking Solfenacin, managing the constipation because they really work for me. My problem is haemorrhoids. I have always had internal haemorrhoids but not external. Since this awful bladder condition they have appeared. They have got so bad I can barely sit down without discomfort, I have tried everything, anusol, Sitz bath, ice pack. They do not shrink. No bleeding or pain except sometimes at the back , but such discomfort they make me feel nauseas. I have been to docs but was prescribed anusol. You are supposed to only take for 14 days. Just want to know if anyone here has suffered this. Dreading being told surgery. It is so painful and you have to avoid constipation or pushing a stool. I already have a constipation problem. Is there other alternatives for external haemorrhoids? Just hoping one of you lovely people has had any of this. Wasn’t sure which group to post on but it did all start from the bladder problem. Thanks for any advice.

Something that helps me is spraying cool water with some witch hazel mixed in, after a BM. I follow that with a little Beaudreaux Sensitive Baby Butt Paste around the anus. Going on a low fiber diet has really helped me too.

Thankyou for your reply. Wondering if you use anything to shrink the haemorrhoids. Mine really cause me total discomfort. Really do not want the surgery. I have to eat high fibre because of the constipation.

I’m sorry you’re struggling with this, I know it’s awful. My hemorrhoids were small, so didn’t require intervention like surgery. I used Preparation H for a month and it really helped, until I became sensitive to something in the product. That happens with me often. I took high fiber foods (Ezekiel bread) out of my diet and improved. I make sure to eat a kiwi fruit daily and that seems to be enough.

Wishing you healing and better days!

Hi Alloagirl,

Really, really simple solution for you. I apologise I’ve only just seen your post. As soon as the haemorrhoids come out, i.e. every time you poo, (or if you have simply stood up or walked around for too long I find also tends to cause them to slowly slide out ☹), once you've finished wiping, have a square of kitchen towel (I use “Plenty”) ready, fold it in 4, put it under the cold tap, then squeeze the water out, then simply press it against the haemorrhoids using your fingertips to apply the pressure, doesn't need to be too hard, just keep a constant pressure, they will instantly start shrinking, although you won't notice, or believe, that they are, as the fluid is gently, gradually forced out of them. You can release and move it around a bit as you feel necessary to try and keep an even pressure on all the swollen haemorrhoids, but you will soon get used to doing it. Then, all of a sudden after only about one to three minutes ‘ish, maybe a bit longer, you will realise that they quite suddenly become much less swollen, keep pushing, and adjusting the pad slightly as you feel necessary, and they will gently go back inside your anus! It truly feels like a miracle when they go back in, you feel SO relieved! NEVER, in my humble (yet sadly, very experienced!) opinion, put Preparation H, Anusol, etc, etc, on external haemorrhoids and imagine that will be any use whatsoever in getting them to go back inside your anus, you need to act IMMEDIATELY, and gently push them back in as above, putting a cream on is, I believe not only pointless, but will leave them outside, stretching and therefore damaging/further weakening them, making them more likely to come out again. The absolute key is, which I was never told, is to always do the above AS SOON AS YOU POSSIBLY CAN AFTER THEY HAVE COME OUT, to minimise the damage caused by them leaving them being stretched outside the anus. Very occasionally I find one difficult to get back in, try repeatedly squeezing your sphincter muscles as you push it back in, or just put a bit of KY Jelly or Preparation H or similar on the kitchen towel purely to lubricate the area a bit, and that makes it slide back in really easily. Can't believe doctors seriously recommend applying any kind of cream, without mentioning the above unbelievably simple, yet totally effective procedure first!! One other quick tip, if you have to stand up or walk around, which of course can cause them to start sliding out, and you are not in a position where you can do the above procedure, simply sit down, and remain seated, as sitting down will usually also make them go back in as well, though not as instantly as the above procedure of course, as long as they have not come out too far of course, in which case you will need to do the above easy procedure. Hope that helps, and sorry for graphic descriptions 😊. Good luck!, and please feel free to spread how to do the above simple procedure as widely as you can if you find it useful. It took me far too long suffering like you are now, and obviously having them get worse, before I finally worked out this ridiculously simple solution for myself.
