bladder installations
Hi, I have interstitial cystitis so pain, but no infection. I have been doing hyacyst instill for 10 years now. I do it monthly and it has been brilliant and my flares are very infrequent now. I use a catheter to completely empty my bladder, then instill the hyacyst.
What are your symptoms of IC the specialist is saying she thinks I have IC my symptoms are after urinating it feels sore down below and will feel sore sometimes for a while sometimes for a short time.
I've had Hyacyst instillations in the past. They worked for 18 months and then lost efficacy for reasons unexplained. I now use Hiprex which has been working perfectly for 18 months (touching wood as I write). Neither treatment will clear an existing infection (you need an anti-B to clear) but will stop them coming back in my experience. Much better solutions than anti-Bs!! My consultant advises rotating between the two treatments if and when they start to fail.
Thank you for your reply I will ask my specialist for hiprex.
Good luck, Hiprex would be my preference over instillations which are no problem but obviously way more hassle!
