Hi folks. After a year of bladder training, two different meds, tests and scans, I'm going to be having Botox. I'm petrified. I'm not sure I'll be able to do the self catheterisation, I have training for this next week. And I really don't know if I can go through the procedure with just local anaesthetic. I was given the BAUS literature to read which hasn't made me feel any easier to be honest. Has anyone had experience themselves and was it successful? They say it will have to keep being repeated too. I'd be happy to hear anything from anyone regarding this. Thankyou for reading. Xxx

It's very effective, not too uncomfortable getting it done and ISC is surprisingly simple once you get used to it, so chin up and don't worry

Thankyou. I read a whole load of reviews yesterday and they ranged from heaven to hell in quite equal proportions so it's just a case of suck it up and see I guess. Anything that gives me more freedom has to be worth it. Hope you are well. Xx

I had the injections for the first time two days ago and I was also petrified. The actual procedure took about ten minutes, the actual injections only about two minutes and it was uncomfortable but tolerable. Don't know yet what the effects will be, but have noticed that peeing is becoming a little more difficult. Hopefully I won't have to catheterise but am fully prepared for it. Still waiting for it to kick in properly.

Hi Lucy, how did it all turn out with the Botox injection. Well I hope. I’m trying to work out what treatment to try for my inflamed bladder. Thanks Sophie
