Over the last 2 weeks, i have started getting bad urges to use the toilet to urinate frequently. This comes on every 2 - 3 hours throughout the day, sometimes there is not even alot of urine to pass when i go.
My GP has done lots of blood tests and checked for a urine infection etc. No real cause can be found, i am feeling really depressed about this, at work i am always going to the toilet. I have cut down my social life completely as i am worried to go anywhere.
Does anyone know any medication or anything that can help over the counter from a pharmacy that might be worth trying please? Further does anyone know what may be causing these symptoms and what may be happening?
I have had symptoms, such as twitching in my legs, a vibrating sensation with burning feet. This has been ongoing for many years and was diagnosed as functional symptoms. My GP does not think it is related.
Thank you so much everyone for your time and thank you for reading my post.
Best Wishes,
John

Have you had PSA test and prostate checked by gp? Sounds like could be a mechanical problem not infection type issue. I am assuming here that you are male!
This has been a problem for me for 9 years. DX'd with neurogenic bladder with almost constant UTI's for past year. I tried many supplements. Recently started D-Mannose, a bladder cleanser, natural cranberry juice with no added sugar, and increased Vit C to 2,000 mg daily. Still wasn't clearing frequency, spasms, UTI. I added a natural antibiotic: Allibiotic CF. It is also a immune support. Clear urine test for the first time this year. Other possibilities for your issues are : interstical cystitis. Eliminate all caffine and sugar. Hope you get some relief..
A friend had similar issue Besides sugar and caffeine he has been told to avoid alcohol and artificial sweeteners (not just in tea/coffee but also diet drinks). Whilst it does seem to make a difference he keeps lapsing when he should have more sense!
Foxglove, I am in the states. I purchased it at the health food store in Livingston, Montana. Allibiotic CF...NowFoods.com. Contains: Elderberry, Olive Leaf, Garlic Extract, Oregano Oil, ImmmuneEnhancer from Larch Tree(a prebiotic supplement for the support of healthy intestinal flora, a key component of normal immune function. Rosemary Oil. NOW is a large company. Hopefully you can get it in the UK, or at least something similar. Not only did this help with UTI, but also the bladder spasms, frequency and leakage.
Trying the Allibiotic CF you recommended, only been on it for a short time and just taking I per day. Don't want to be too optimistic but it seems to be helping!! (esp with leakage)- I'll perhaps increase dose next week and order some more
Foxglove...good to hear this. I take the recommended two per day and it has helped me consistently with frequency and leakage since I started. Also helped with the UTI's. I also use D-Mannose power, once a day. It is a Bladder cleanser, and vit C. The most significant improvements, have been with the Allibiotic CF.
Happy new year to you too and much thanks for telling me about the allibiotic, I've ordered more and when I get these I'll definite take two daily, I'm also taking Turmeric capsules which help with digestion and circulation, D-Mannose didn't work for me and I found it expensive, vit. c even in small dose gives me the runs. Just as well we're all different, good that we can compare! Wishing you health, happiness and peace for 2019 x
Agree, D-Mannose expensive and I wasn't able to clear up UTI with it. The Allibiotic CF was what made the difference. I am still taking the D-Mannose. Vit C does affect some with digestive distress. We all have to find what may or may not work. I haven't tried tumeric. I do have circulation issues , edema.
May all be well in 2019..or at least enough improvements to give better quality of life!
Glad we seem to be thinking along the same line! I take Turmeric because I have Raynaud's - not been taking it long enough to really know if it's having any effect. At least as far as I know it won't harm, if you feel like trying, Holland and Barrett have the large size bottle 200 for half price (less than £20) still costly but not too bad!!! . Echo your wishes for 2019
Well sounds like nerve issues if get leg and feet issues like you say and the Bladder is connected to "EVERYTHING" for one as that is the end of the line anything upstream finds it's way to the bladder and the nerves that control it run along with the ones that control feet/legs
But Quacks always bury there heads in the sand saying not me not my fault you prescent difficult circumstances(Tech speak for they don't have a clue!)
I had a variety of tests and the doctors state this is functional, no cause can be found. Prostate and PSA have also been checked. I have been prescribed Regurin but have bad side effects from it.
Does anyone please know anything herbal or any vitamins / minerals, that could slow the bladder down without needed to rely on Regurin? I have been advised Chamomile tea may help, so this is something i may try.
The burning sensation and twitching in my feet may be linked. I have had lots of tests for small fiber neuropathy and these came back negative. So it all remains a mystery, i have been so depressed about these symptoms, i feel i cannot go anywhere. Does anyone please know any absorbent undergarments or anything i can take with me incase i need the toilet and there isn't one around?
Don't accept this neglect from your GP. You need to strive for a proper diagnosis. IC is the bladder condition diagnosed when there are no detectable symptoms. Professor Malone Lee will be able to identify if you have an infection undetected by the testing available on the NHS.
I know this post was a long time ago but I am a resent member due to mystery bladder symptoms and came across your post. I wondered if a diagnosis was ever made for you? I had a phone consultation with a urologist (6 minutes !) I had waited in pain for months. He told me to try over the counter antihistamines while I wait for more test to be done. I won't be seeing anyone for another 4 months!! Luckily for me the antihistamines have significantly lessened the pain and frequency of urination. I couldn't have waited another 4 months the way I was. I hope this might help someone who is waiting and suffering unnecessarily.
