Hi,I got a bypass surgery in December 2021 after my heart surgery in JR hospital in Oxfordshire but I lived in Milton Keynes but I had not seen any consultant after my discharge from hospital in 2021.I am on Ramipril 2.5mg ,Bisoprolol 3.75mg ,Aspirin 75mg and Atorvastatin 80mg from last 3 years . I had not been to rehab clinic after my surgery because there was no clinic in MK hospital due to Covid time. I don’t do any exercise only do school run sometimes for only 4000 to 5000 steps because I looked after a special child at home and don’t have spare time or will/power to do any exercise even at home.I have a sleep apnea as well .I only sleep to 4 to 5 hours daily and I don’t do continuous sleep 3 hours and then 2 hours sleep later because of sleep apnea and sometimes my son.I sleep after 2 O clock because my son is awake till 2 O clock or sometimes till 4 o clock in the morning then I wake up about 7 o clock .i have some other health issues like Diabetes (not sure) but I am on borderline from last 5 years .i am 48 years old height 5’8 and weight 107kg now,I put on weight 7 kg from last 2 years .i have a fatty liver and now knee arthritis as well from last 2 years. The consultant asked me to knee replacement but I refused.i will go for keyhole surgery in few months time.I thought my health issues are increasing day by day after using medication but Gp said you have to take these medications rest of your life.i only take statin 40mg instead of 80mg from last few months after my cousin advice he is a medical professional.i have heard a lot of bad things about on social media means it’s side effects.I don’t have a any ambition in my life no energy .i have a same day every day no motivation.i have a lot of responsibilities of a small family of 5 people but no motivation in life .I think I stuck in a circle.i have a family history of heart disease as well.

I asked numerous times from my Gp for special advice from a cardiologist to review my medications but did not get any advice or appointment. The Gp said you call the hospital and Mk hospital said you are discharged from our side.i have never seen a heart specialist in my life before my heart surgery and heart attack.I did not take any blood pressure medication before as well.i knew I have a family history of heart disease but I did not think I have a heart attack no signs.i was looking my son in covid times and self isolation nearly 2 years saying home most of the time.

Now should I call to Jr hospital Oxford where I had a heart surgery .i asked again Gp for fresh referral for Cardiology appointment in Mk Hospital .i am not sure .please I need your advice.i am sorry it was a lengthy statement

I live in oxford and all my heart issues are dealt with by The John Radcliffe Hospital .I have always had great attention from them . I suggest you are falling through the gap somehow. Telephone the cardiology dept with a synopsis of your problems ...not a mass of detail as they will not have time to discuss this at length .... with this outline they should be able to guide you and probably organise an appointment...ask for one .... as a follow up to your surgery.Make sure you have your hospital number and nhs number when you phone as they are unlikely to discuss anything with you without those details.

You probably know this already, but your weight compared to your height is above recommendations. You don’t have to go to the gym to get more exercise but could you gradually get up to 10,000 steps a day? The better lifestyle should make your heart problems improve, or at least get worse more slowly.

Also, your diet? Plenty of information on the British Heart Foundation website if you need any tips.

If you are responsible for your family then you may think you owe it to them to look after your health.

Do you have a step counter? Do you like music? Maybe dance and have a boogy whilst doing things around the house? The steps add up before you realise. Maybe during TV adverts stand up and do squats? It's not easy but it's a start.

Set yourself smaller walking targets and slowly increase it.

Best of luck. Take it one day at a time.
