Hi Grumpy,
If you go on Comparethemarket.com they will give you comparisons and a breakdown of different travel insurance providers and plans. I am personally with Staysure however, everyone has different conditions so my plan would differ to yours and that would affect the cost of the plan/cover.
Also keep in mind that anything currently under investigation or awaiting diagnosis is likely to be uncovered.
All the best.
Tos
Tos - Thanks I get everyones different, just trying to get a benchmark - With Aviva for decades - Reluctant to use comparison sites as i see the small print as THE BIG TiCKET Stay Sure get good press on the site
After asking question
BIG win spoke to current annual provider Quote "Only advise of chages at renewal"
So travel on medical advice
I understand. I couldn’t advise on what the cost would be for someone travelling with a pacemaker. The other popular ones which I see on here for travel insurance is All Clear, Admiral, and Vitaly.
I’ve personally not had a “bad” experience as such with Staysure and have had to use them to claim back twice and gotten my money back.
You are so being ill advised you need to report any significant changes during the term of your insurance. Please notify that you have a pacemaker and get them to confirm in writing otherse if you make a claim be it unrelated they could void the whole of your policy and any claim.
Use a comparison site for travel insurance with pre existing medical condition and then take it from there. Or talk to a local insurance broker. We are all different, insurance duration, what conditions we have, age, where we are going etc etc, and so it is important to do your own research. So just because someone on here has has a good deal with one insurer doesn't mean someone else will.
I looked at an anti, stay sure and all clear plus a price comparison. Was easy after my post op (mitral valve repair) to get insurance. I found annual insurance to be a much better deal than single trip but changed my mind about trip to USA after seeing how much it cost. You can also opt to pay a fee with the specialist insurance companies to cover other people travelling if cancelled due to your heart problems.
hi,
I have several medical conditions: a blood clotting condition. I’ve had dvts , pulmonary embolisms in lungs. A heart attack and stroke )TIA) plus atrial fribulation. I use staysure as I’ve found them the cheapest so far, my insurance has gone up after each condition diagnosed so have shopped around but not found a better quote elsewhere .
We have travel insurance included on our bank account. A quick call and £152.00 and they extended the cover. Poss cheaper somewhere else but we were happy to have everything in one place.
Hi I use insurancewith.com they specialise in pre existing conditions. I hope you get your insurance sorted and have a fab holiday. Char
