Travel insurance for pre existing conditions

Hi everyone

Looking for recommendation's for any specialist travel insurer . Husband has Coronary heart disease , two stents , and heart attack 20 yrs ago . We haven’t had a problem getting travel insurance before declaring this conditions . But he is waiting for an endoscopy for an unrelated stomach issue and we haven’t been able to get travel insurance . Not even to exclude the stomach issue .

Has anyone had any success with an insurer that we could try .

This crops up regularly on here. My advice to anyone looking for travel insurance especially where they have pre-existing medical conditions is to do your own research. We are all different, age, what medical conditions we have, gender, where we are going and for how long etc. So just because someone on here gets a good deal with Avanti, Allclear or Staysure for example, doesn't mean everyone else will. And if you are awaiting investigations or tests some providers may decline which will make your choice restricted and others will charge you more. So find a comparison site for travel insurance with pre existing medical conditions and take it from there, or talk to your local insurance broker.

I recently used gocompare. I had heart issues and outstanding heart tests due, it let me enter all the details (each health issue separately) and the quotes werent horribly high. Probably worth a try. Good luck.
