This crops up regularly on here. My advice to anyone looking for travel insurance especially where they have pre-existing medical conditions is to do your own research. We are all different, age, what medical conditions we have, gender, where we are going and for how long etc. So just because someone on here gets a good deal with Avanti, Allclear or Staysure for example, doesn't mean everyone else will. And if you are awaiting investigations or tests some providers may decline which will make your choice restricted and others will charge you more. So find a comparison site for travel insurance with pre existing medical conditions and take it from there, or talk to your local insurance broker.

If you use justtravelcover.com you will get a large number of quotes instantly. If you save them and don't buy immediately you will often be offered a 10% discount.

Sorry but I believe that an ILR (as I had before getting my pacemaker) is considered an on-going investigation of undiagnosed symptoms and so you won't be able to get cover.

I read something along these lines before my wife had an ILR recently. However, once she had had it, we contacted our existing travel insurers who accepted the risk for a modest addition to the premium.

don’t forget that when you check trustpilot or similar, most reviews relate to the ease of purchase or price. Dig deeper into who pays out without too much issue. Speaking from experience!

You can definitely get travel insurance with an ILR. I got mine with Staysure - it was about £80 odd for a week in Europe, which I thought was reasonable.
