After a long wait, I was scheduled for cabg x 2 next Monday. Have now received phone call asking my to go tomorrow for surgery on Thursday. Whilst this is great, I am now utterly panic stricken and should be in a mad rush to ensure I have everything sorted, instead I have come to a complete halt! Normal or not?

Glad there getting you in as soon as possible I'm sure everything will be fine x all the best and take care and keep us updated when you can.
Ahh thanks ever so much! I am like a bowl of jelly!
Dear Rosie
That’s good news. You have been saved several days of waiting. And waiting is by far the worst bit.
I lost all the anxiety and nervousness when I got to the hospital. Cardiology staff are fabulous.
Good luck with your procedure and look forward to feeling fit in due course
Sooty
I think I would be feeling the same. Best of luck and look forward to hearing from you here once you've recovered.
Good luck Rosie
Thankyou 💕
Hello
I would say perfectly normal you have had a shock you had your mind set on a certain date most lightly focusing and planning around that date and then all of a sudden they call you and say come in tomorrow and this is a big thing and your mind is no doubt trying to process it and that is when things come to a halt
But do not worry the main thing is the op is getting done and where some get cancelled here you are going sooner than you thought so that is a positive
Sit down get a cup of tea if you have not done a list of what needs to be done try and focus on doing that list and then slowly try and get sorted and you know if you don't manage to do that it does not matter what matters is you and getting this done by Christmas you will be enjoying celebrating with everyone else recovery well on the way by then as well
As for the op I am the most anxious person maybe there is and I got through a triple Bypass and if I can you will as soon as you walk in there the care you will get the fears will just all go away as you will realise you are in safe hands
Let us know how you get on x
Good luck Rosieapple , your soon be on the road to recovery . In a way being brought forward gives you less time to worry x
You’ll be fine. When I had my CABG X2- I went in for an angiogram only to be told “you’re not going home today you need an emergency bypass tomorrow “. I had no idea I was that ill or had anything wrong with my heart other than I had been taking statins for about 5 years. Shock doesn’t come into it and I was totally unprepared for it in every sense of the word. Thank goodness you’re having the surgery it’s a fantastic operation and will change your life. Let us know how you get on and good luck😊
Yep I think it’s normal! You will have planned all sorts when you thought you had the time and yes when you get home it will mean you are probably still looking at some of it and it’s frustrating. But how FANTASTIC your surgery has been brought forward and more importantly not pushed back.
Along with everyone else I wish you all the best. Concentrate on getting better and the rest will fall into place.
Well you are at the hospital now Rosie 👌 Pray all will go well with the operation ❤️
Good Morning.... wow....fantastic at least that it's been brought forward and not delayed as seems to be the norm of late. You will be fine and will be in the best hands. The cardio team and nurses are fantastic and very efficient and I think you will find everything is managed very well, especially post op. I'm sure you will have the most important things packed so don't be be worrying too much. Hopefully your hospital stay won't be for long anyway. All the best.....you will soon be home....it will all be done and you can think about your recovery. X
Don’t panic they’ve probably had a cancellation and you were next on the list good luck you’ll soon be back home again with your membership to the zipper club x🤗
Good luck with your okPrayers and hugs for you x x
You'll be so well taken care of Rosie, honestly, and the time to fret about everything has been compacted to nothing. Focus on all the practical details, but don't work yourself up. If you come home and find you're missing something, these things can be sorted out with help from friends and family (and evil Jeff aka Amazon Prime - my husband had a long phone charging cable Primed to his hotel in London so I could have it in hospital!) Actually crossing bridges as you come to them can be less stressful than trying to anticipate everything. Go with the flow, let them take care of you, and you'll be on the road to recovery before you know it xxx
Good luck Rosie 👍
That's great news!!! Yes, I think.this is perfectly normal!! You have been waiting a while for this operation and suddenly you get news to go in quickly which you were not prepared for. Just take your time and go through everything you need in your hospital bag. You will be absolutely fine and are in very experienced hands. Good luck. Let us know how everything went. Take care.
It’s only natural to feel scared. I don’t know anyone who wouldn’t be. I’m sure it all feels very real now. With anxiety and fear comes the ‘fight/flight AND freeze’ response, which again is only natural.
Be kind to yourself as you prepare for your surgery. Take the rough with the smooth in your quest for better days ahead.
Good luck Xx
The sooner the better but I can see why you are now like a jelly and are in a panic What you don't get done I am sure your husband will manage Give him a list of jobs to keep him occupied while you are in surgery All Will Be Well
Perfectly normal. Much better to be in sooner rather than later. I had my cabg in July & feeling great now. Wishing you a healthy recovery x
