Not yet, I had a CRT-D implanted a couple of months ago. I am now waiting for AV node ablation but I have the added complication of cardiac sarcoidosis. It all sounds a bit drastic and final.

My first pacemaker was called a CRT-P. I had it fitted, then a few months later I had an AVnode ablation. I think that was 11 yrs ago. I was very nervous, a bit indecisive about the ablation because once that’s gone it’s gone. I had atrial tachycardia travelling through it stopping my heart from functioning properly so I had no choice but to get rid of it. So I had pace and ablate.

Everything was thoroughly explained to me showing on the computer how it works and I was given booklets.

I was awake through both procedures watching it on the screen and being reassured by a nurse beside me. All the best

Thank so much for your reply, I was getting so confused not knowing what to do, I am a bit concerned about having both pacemaker and av ablation. But I want to get both out of the way then I can get on with life . I’m 78 , thanks again.

Things have changed a lot since I’ve had mine done and I’m sure they’ve mastered their craft doing it all at once. It saves having to go back to get the ablation done. I would of preferred doing it the way it’s being done for you. Keep in touch and let us know how it went. All the best.
