I had a heart attack 18 months ago had 2 stents fitted since then I’ve run or walked 5k every night after work, I’ve basically lived on fruit fish and vegetables and felt fitter than I ever have in my life. But the problem is the last six weeks I’ve been feeling very lightheaded as though I’m going to pass out , keep getting back and chest pain numbness in my left arm cold feet . Been to the hospital 4 times already, they have done blood test and blood pressure ecg and everything is coming back perfect, my doctor as referred me to a cardiologist and also requested a 24 hour ecg to be fitted he’s also put it down as an emergency, but tells me it may take a couple of weeks or months some emergency hey lol would like to know if there is anyone else out the that’s had the same symptoms as me thank you from a very worried guy

Eddie, sorry I can't say I have had the same, but you are doing everything right so keep at it.

Hopefully they'll call for you soon and you can see a cardiologist who can give you some answers, I really hope it is nothing to serious.

Hi Eddie just keep getting it checked I would say if you don’t feel right get it checked out that’s what I would do I also had a cardiac arrest back in July and I find little things happening to me that I’ve never experienced before so I mention it to the Doctors if I’m not happy I was getting short of breath not out of breath spoke to my Dr and he changed one of my tablets and I’m fine know but I have days we’re I’m really not sure what’s happening with me so I just keep an eye on myself and if I’m not happy I’m on the old blower to the Doctors checking it out all the very best

apart from the back and arm pain, light headedness and cold extremity's can come about from beta blockers. Important to get things checked out asap as you’re trying, just wondering if there have been any recent medication changes.

hi rg I was put on beta blockers when I first had my heart attack but was taken off them again 5 months later as my blood pressure kept dropping to low

Might be worth giving your Cardio Rehab team a call if you still have their number? Take care

you’re doing the right things. This could be your meds but you need to talk to your cardiologist if poss to review the specific fosages and meds.

Have you lost a lot of weight in that time with the eating and exercising that you now do ? Has your heart rate lowered considerably?

Would it be worth asking for all your meds to be reviewed in view of your physical changes to see if you are being over medicated? I have no experience of this-it is just something that I was considering.

Hi Eddie64,

You're definitely doing the right things, but don't forget that the colder weather at this time of year wil put an added strain on your body, especially if you are running 5k each evening. Also I wonder whether you have ever had a review of your medication. It took several attempts to get mine right, not least the adjustment of my beta blocker dose which was too high and made me light-headed at times.

Hopefully you will get the situation resolved soon.

Kind regards,

Gerald

I feel exactly the same. I had a heart attack 14 months ago at 44 years young. 2 stents. I was prescribed the usual cocktail of tablets. Atovastatin, Ramipril, Aspirin, Prasugrel, Lansoprazole and Bisoprolol.I changed my diet and lifestyle and also lost 2 and a half stone. I now weigh 11 stone 6 lbs at 5'11". I first started with light-headedness a couple of months post HA and noticed my BP was low mostly around 98/68 sometimes lower. My resting HR was around 42 to 52. My cardiologist reduced the Ramipril but I was still getting light-headedness and sometimes felt as if I would pass out. Eventually I was taken off Ramipril and the dizziness subsided for a couple of months. My BP increased to around 108/80 and my resting HR around 55-60. I felt great and was jogging/walking everyday. The dizziness started again and this time my Bisoprolol was reduced from 10mg to 5mg. That helped for a few weeks but then it started again. It was then reduced to 2.5 mg per day which again helped for a few weeks. I now have trouble sleeping, tremors and dizziness I was also getting chest pain which after a couple of trips to A&E ECGs and bloods I finally found out it was all the spice I was using in my new diet causing reflux and indigestion. I have cut down on spicey food and take gaviscon which helps tremendously. I was amazed at how much indigestion and reflux feels like heart pain. I forgot to mention that I am also getting palpitations daily. I've had a 3 day ECG which came back normal. <1% ectopic beats. I'm now waiting on results from a 6 day ECG which I recently had due to palpitations.

My current meds are now:

Bisoprolol 2.5mg daily (1.25mg morning and night)

Ranolazine 375mg twice a day

Aspirin 75mg daily

Lansoprazole 30mg daily

Bempedoic Acid 180mg daily

I'm still getting dizziness mostly while walking. My current BP is around 107/74. My current resting HR is 56-60.

I'm pretty sure that my current symptoms are down to my meds.

Sorry for the long post. I think a meds review is needed with yourself and a specialist I hope you feel better soon.

Good morning Eddie, I had HA last March 21 I couldn’t have no rehab because of the Covid so I had to do a plan for myself I am a Walker so I felt it important to get back out there. But I have to say I used to get these funny heads for a while they were awful very lightheaded but the docs wasn’t sure even the cardiologist was the same so when they came I just used to rest. Now I still do my walking but I go to gym now I have meet some nice people and funny enough everyone has had the same but haven’t had the other you are going through but I do get cold and I was told it is the blood thinners. The last time I was lightheaded was October only one day but last year it was every day. I hope it works itself out for you. Best wishes.
