Of course you can join, welcome! Do you have a heart condition or care for someone who does? It doesn't matter, I don't think, if you do or don't, btw - I'm just a Nosey Nellie:)

Hello

I had a second echocardiogram (1st was a year ago). I am informed I have moderate aortic valve stenosis, tricuspid valve problem and also Ventricular Systolic Disfunction. I can’t speak to anyone till next week (Cardiologist) as he’s on holiday and GP till 17th September (this is normal for her). Given lots of other stuff going on (see BLiverTrust), should I be anxious or worried. Liver man told my daughter that “something else is likely to see me off before the Cirrhosis”. They both thought this was hilarious!!!! I didn’t !!!!!

I'm not sure I would have found that hilarious either:( Perhaps the liver doctor was trying to reassure you the condition isn't as life-threatening as diagnosis might suggest, rather like a Heartie being told he/she has heart failure. It sounds shockingly bad but in reality it is manageable usually, and not a death sentence.

Thank-you for listing your heart conditions - you've definitely come to the right forum for tips, info, commiserations on bad days, and camaraderie. I have 'trivial' aortic valve scarring ('trivial' so the cardiologist doesn't consider it stenosis) and a few other mild-ish heart conditions well controlled with medication and lifestyle and have found this forum to be THE place for all sorts barring what I need to consult my medics for.

Again, welcome to the merry band of Hearties:)

Hello and welcome,

I have just read your post to Sunnie, I had Aortic valve replaced and bypass 4 years ago. As Sunnie says we are a merry band of Hearties 😉 once you have spoken to your cardiologist and you have a plan in place there are lots of us here that can help you out with how things were for them.

Best wishes Pauline
