Anybody else suffer with the heat?

I find I get so much more fatigue symptoms with the hot weather. I also find I get an awful lot of 'heart' anxiety in the hot weather. Does anybody else suffer from this? Could NOT cope with the 32 degree weather in Essex today!

Yes, I took a short walk to my local shops this pm. Usually, this is a brisk walk........today I stopped 3 times on the way back..........it felt like there was no oxygen in the air.

I think a lot of people feel the same , heart disease or not. I marvel at the tennis professionals who can withstand extreme heat day after day and deliver extraordinary performances. However as regards us and our problems with heart disease , a light stroll is about all I am going to do until the weather gets cooler

The tannins pros are used to the heat . They train in artificially created environments to ensure that they can play matches in the real heat.

Yes, which is why I have been awake since 3:30 as it is so close and sticky whilst yesterday I was finished by 3:00pm.

Nearly 20 years ago I was in Australia and was fine in 45C heat around Uluru. In early 2017 I developed angina on cold days never having been bothered by the cold before. Once on the heartie dolly mixture I found I couldn't with the heat either. Since my quadruple bypass I haven't been bothered by the cold but just can't stand the heat.

One thing to bear in mind unless you are on a fluid restriction is to up your fluid intake but preferably not with coffee or alcohol as these are dehydrating. This avoids strain on your organs, your blood thickening and reduces the potential of constipation.

I think we are all starting to wilt in the heat. Its OK if you can go for a drive with the windows open. I have been up since 5 with not being able to sleep. Brian

On my old Jaguar in was more windows closed and air con on. Sadly because of my amputation issues it has stood a long while and had terminal sill corrosion! ☹️

Sorry to hear that MichaelJH. I think it's a lifeline to most guys there car. We do have an obsession with cars some of us. I am sure it's probably worth a lot of money to a person that restores them. Hope you enjoy your day. Brian

I absolutely hate it! I’m in Scotland, which isn’t quite as hot luckily, but find that July and August are my least favourite months of the year. I actually cheer when the Haar (sea fret) rolls in from the North Sea. When out in the sunshine, I can be found scuttling between patches of shade, while everyone else is lying in the park soaking up those few days of Scottish sunshine.

I seem to remember liking the heat in my twenties, but that’s a good while back!

However I would love to be on a Scottish island now with a wonderful beach instead of the sticky hot south😸

Yes, I’m lucky! I live in central Edinburgh, but the Botanic Gardens can be cool in the shade of all the trees. I find that plenty of trees providing shade makes a huge difference.

Really envy you . My daughter lives in South Berwick and can’t wait to get there. Love Scotland

I live in north Ayrshire so I’m right beside the beach , well five mins drive away , my heart attack was last April and although I suffered with the heat last year this year I feel much worse due to it , My ef is 40% I’m fat , I’m menopausal, I just can’t handle it at all . I have fans everywhere in the house including paper ones in every room , today it’s very gray and overcast but it’s sticky mucky and roasting with no wind , bring on the snow ❄️ !!

Crossing fingers for a cooling breeze for you soon. Edinburgh is due to cool down a bit through today. Muggy, humid weather is the worst. It does get hotter and wetter in the west. All the best for your recovery. I moan about with just A Fib, and I’m lucky to be not too symptomatic. I don’t have the foggiest what my EF is, and wonder if they will tell me when I get an echocardiogram in two weeks.

I love you name 😱🤣🤣 and soooooo jealous of the beach. I couldn't live in Scotland though...................my feet & hands are always freezing..........don't know if its circulatory, my skinny ankles/wrists or the bisoprolol. I'm discussing bp meds with my GP tomorrow

I love the sunshine and being warm but yesterday was so humid....very draining. Not complaining about the lovely weather and sunshine always welcome but the sweaty days and nights with humidity can go play elsewhere. Let's hope it's a bit more fresh today. X

Hi Swiftie09, let’s hope for a cooler day today!

This is my first summer post heart failure & attack. It’s made me feel terrible. Bit like a fish out of water. Wish I’d known before as I panicked!

Have been advised to stay inside or at least in shade, drink more - but be careful.

We need to be more aware. Fortunately I am not a sun lover, but must be hard for those of us who are.

Take care

Hi swiftie09I hate it!

Yesterday I stayed in all day in front of the fan...taking it easy, hydrating often(I do anyway, hot or cold weather!),no exertion !

It was here 27 through the day, to my shock it went up to 28 in the evening!! It became very still, clammy... I felt like there's no oxygen in the air. Couldn't take a deep breath..sticky night, up three times, finally abandoned the bed at 6.

I usually open all windows very early , let cool air in, then, shut them, and pull the blinds down.

I have the sun in my living room and bedroom blasting in until midday.🥵😫😥

I am so grateful for living in the North of the country, Merseyside and very near the sea.

Feel sorry for those in London and southern parts...

I hate the heat and sun, try avoid it!

In my youth I was a sun worshiper!🤣

Always tanned!

Stay cool, in the shade, no exertion, hydrate!

But we should realise that this is the coldest summer of the rest of our lives, unfortunately! Scary ! 🤔😥🥵

Hopefully we will soon have lower temperatures!🤞🙏

Stay safe!

Monica

This is my second year of heat intolerance - even all the tactics to stay cool don’t help but knowing it’ll pass once the weather is cooler does help.

I've never been able to stand the heat Swiftie, and ever since a HA and triple bypass at the beginning of this year, I can't stand it even more. I've recovered very well from both but noticed during my daily walks this week that I feel a lot slower and it almost feels harder to have a really deep breath. As for having a lovely nights sleep - I can forget it! When I was a child, and moaning about the heat as usual, my Mum would laugh and tell me it was because I was born in December, a week before Christmas (hence my name - Carol). I've always loved Autumn and Winter and when I see the first snow of the year I still feel just as excited as I did as a child (I'm 62 now) the only thing is, I'm terrified driving in it! ☃️❄️⛄

Oh Not dead you r such a sweet heart for caring for me. I WAS told to call n make an appointment with my primary..I'll do it for next week. it's been muggy, windy, hot, I'm staying inside n doing stuff that needs to be done. When my son was here for a weekend, he lives in Arizona, n works back n forth in Las Vegas! he pulled out my bins with my summer clothes to rotate winter stuff etc, but I sit down every hour.

We just not built for it over here.? We spend three quarter of year trying to keep warm, then when it does get hot our bodies go into shock at the surprise and disbelief that the sun is out and the temp is up.????😁I love to be sweating my trolleys off because before I know it we guna be back to the depressing miserable cold damp norm again 😩

Yes. I work in Africa and when I'm there I find I get a bit dizzy if I stand too quickly and I find I have to rest a lot more than when I'm back in UK. According to my nurse, blood thins in hot weather and people bleed more. This is based on observation and not clinical trials.

If we had air con in our homes the heat would be much easier to deal with And when you live in a city , surrounded by buildings the heat isn’t great .

The heat’s bearable if you live by the beach ( and have air-con at home of course!)

My mom always said it's easier to tolerate winter bc u turn on heat pile on cozy warm clothes, blankets drink hot toddy. But summer nothing helps apart from sitting in fridge

My breathing has been terrible in this heat. I have COPD/Emphysema. I haven't the energy to do anything. Even making a coffee leaves me gasping for breath. All I do is stay inside with my fan on. Never thought I would say I wish it was winter.
