Another Mini Heat Wave

This has been an odd summer. Last year we had around six weeks of hot weather (not ideal as I had just had OHS). This year it had come in a number of 4 - 5 day spikes. Yesterday got distinctly warm (wish buses had air con) mid afternoon and we have 31, 30 and 28 forecast for today and the next few days.

As per usual a few hints. Hot weather dilates the blood vessels so combined with medication you may experience hypotension. Try and about the heat of the day and exercise early and late. It is better not to exercise for a day or two than push things in the heat. Unless on a fluid restriction make sure you keep well hydrated. I have found I need to drink quite a bit more water as I lose a lot through perspiration. This has definitely increased since my heart issues started! ☹️

If you become unwell check.with 111 or dial 999. Remember heart issues are serious so even if things are OK it is not time wasting as they prefer to check people out than dealing with a full blown emergency!

Any enjoy the bank holiday and stay safe! 🌞

Thanks. Good reminder. I was just preparing for a brisk walk. Perhaps later.

A good idea unless you are in the north of Scotland. The other day I dropped my banger off for the MOT and had a pleasant stroll back. When I collected it mid-afternoon it was a bit of a struggle and I needed a.couple of glasses of cold water from their dispenser when I got there. I worry when I see obviously unfit people attempting to jog in the heat glowing bright red and sweating profusely.

P.S. She passed but with a few advisories like her owner! 🌝

Well it be the same for me Michael 🤣😊🤣 got my son's car now, W54, starting to love this Fiat Hatchback 1.2

So much easier and glad got a smaller car now. Was working today, yes it was warm but bearable in our restaurant kitchen tonight. Better get some sleep as back there for 11 am!

Glad i am not on the bus any more. It is sweltering on these buses despite air con! Drunk a lot of water the past 2 days, Anyway Michael enjoy the sunshine whilst we got it! Hope you have a lovely Bank Holiday 😊👍

Thank you Michael. This weather just wipes me out.Short early and late dog walk then most of the day on the sofa.I was afraid the heavy sweats were due to yet another health problem but it would seem I`m not alone on this which is a relief.

When I go at the exercise bike at rehab I "self shower"! 🚿

Been over 30C for seven hours now and heat seems to have seeped in now. Peaked at 32C during the afternoon. Where's the cooling rain? 🌧️

I went to a shopping centre this morning (air conditioned). The best place was Marks and Spencer’s food department. I’m thinking of taking a deckchair tomorrow. 🥵 🥵

Should not laugh as angina is not funny but your description is!

I found angina (CAD related) really frustrating as my comfortable operating zone fell in a narrow temperature window!

Walked to the corner shop as steps well down! ☹️ I have never seen it so busy but he had installed air-conditioning. Did ask but got a no to taking a deckchair even though I offered to buy the Times and a decent bottle of Chardonnay! Maybe Waitrose's dairy section! 😎
